Part of me feels sorry for Alex in story 3. He obviously comes from a broken home and never really learned how to act or be around people. That doesn’t justify him breaking into the storyteller’s house, but he sounds like someone that just wanted friends to make up for the lack of love and companionship he wasn’t getting at home. Hope Alex was able to move past his bad childhood, or at the very least stop breaking into houses.

I actually feel sorry for Alex. He obviously didn't have a concept of boundaries, but it sounds like he just needed a friend. He probably didn't even understand what he did wrong to get ghosted. Being part of a broken family, ostracized for being the weird kid, it must have been very isolating. I hope things got better for him when he got older.

I can’t be the only one here who feels bad for Alex in the last story, the kid sounds like he isn’t being raised in a good home

dude that alex story is so sad…. he was probably living in an abusive household considering how dirty it was and the fact he found it necessary to leave the house when his parents were arguing. i’d like to think that he meant no harm and resorted to violence since that’s all he’s ever been exposed to yk?..

I grew up in abusive circumstances and was often bullied bc I was “weird.” I genuinely hope Alex is doing better, my heart hurts for him.

Story 1 it's a good thing the kid actually listened.

The last story about Alex was much more sad than terrifying. How the parents had made Alex seem deranged and lonely, and living in a household that is inhumane. All he wanted was to be free and able to hang out

There is definitely a scale of parenting going on in this video, the parents in the first story being embarrassed but honwst about how they left their child unprotected and the last one where they did everything to seek compensation once they realized how their child was threatened.

Who leaves an 8 year old home alone in the middle of the night, poor kid must have been terrified.

I actually feel really bad for Alex. I know it could feel threatening in the moment, but it sounds like a giant call for help and a need for support. I don't blame OP for being scared and making him the villain, especially at that young, but it sounds like Alex just got the shit end of the stick and was trying to find a friend.

You know, it's refreshing to see so many comments sympathizing with Alex and even trying to understand his circumstances. Shows how much the world has changed in that regard. When I was a kid, everyone would've just written him off as a loony and wanted him locked up.

As a father, I've been using the scenarios in Mr. Nightmare's vids for my own hypothetical safety trainings.

Im glad im not the only one feeling sad for alex. The irony of saying "i was judged for being the new kid" and then completely judging a kid for having less than you.

The last story is honestly heartbreaking. I feel like Alex was being abused and was lonely. Poor kid.

coming from an abusive home does not absolve you of your own actions; alex is likely a victim, yes, but he still did very alarming things at an age where he absolutely knew what is and isn’t acceptable behavior.
his insistence on sleeping IN the bed with op, not just at op’s house, was really unnerving

That last story was sad. Really seemed like the kid had major trauma and was possibly being abused. OP’s parents really should of called the police and child services.

These type of stories are educational and makes me want to even pray harder for all the children, that they will be rescued.

While I do feel bad about Alex and his circumstances in the last story, I think too many people are failing to acknowledge how terrified and potentially traumatized the storyteller was. An obsessive kid breaking into your room is scary enough, but given that Alex was older and also clearly living in a dysfunctional and potentially abusive household, he may have been dangerous as well. I will always have empathy for anyone who suffers through abuse but at the same time we have to recognize that unfortunately and tragically, the abused person can become dangerous themselves.

Story 2. Poor Buddy. How dare you move into his house and then throw away his favourite toy. He wasn't hurting anyone. Get along with your ghosts.
