Got this a while back with dcd805 + 2x 1.7A batteries and I love it. There is a problem tho, Im running out of stuff to do around the house with all the tools...

My parents did a lot of shade tree mechanics when i was growing up and using a socket adapter on the impact drivers help a lot when trying to get stuff that you can't get a ratchet in but you can stick a couple extensions in and zip them out. Since where we're at doesn't get snow but once a year if it's a cold year stuff doesn't really rust up so an impact driver can take off lug nuts just fine as long as the person that put them in last actually used a torque wrench to get it there and not just ran the air impact till it started straining. Now that i'm doing my own thing i picked up this same kit at the same price paying a bit more for them over the $150 combo kits they usually do mostly for the powerstacks and the impact driver itself. Just the powerstacks alone are about $120 of the $230 with the dcf850 going for around $100-110 when on a good sale. They did raise the price of this kit to $300 now and currently have another kit that has a slightly better hammer drill and the same batteries but doesn't have the dcf850. Instead it has a larger one that doesn't have the modes.

I know this is an old review - level one has a weird 'step' behavior if you keep holding the trigger after it stops initially. It will still drive with plenty of torque, but won't impact like you said.

Maybe try a T bit style screw. The Phillips bit screw are horrible and they camber out all the time. Great review!!

DCF850 is amazing for its size and weight, but that combo kit doesn't represent Dewalt's best tools.

DCF999 or DCF998 are better Hammer Drills and paired with a 6Ah battery make for the most formidable of Dewalt's offerings.

Having a light weight tool that fits in tight spaces and will do most things paired with a heavy duty hammer drill that can do most everything else is a more optimal set. Add a Halberd (formerly know as Hardwerks) Universal Fit Magnetic Bit Holder and you are good to go.
