Building Relationships, Engaging and Empowering Students: Lessons Learned Teaching Summer School

If you’re a teacher from grade 7 to 12 (in any subject), if you are new to Minds Online or if you have some experience, join me to see some simple ways to use Minds Online for online learning. We’ll take a tour of the grade 10 academic math course I wrote in Minds Online for online summer school this July (taught in a four week block model, like an octomester), and use it as a model whose learning experiences and tools can be easily transferred to any intermediate or secondary class. I’ll share how I modified high yield strategies from the classroom using Minds Online tools, Desmos Activities, Loom (for screencast video), Google Docs and Google Jamboard. Finally, I’ll share some student voice and lessons learned.
