The best time to visit Finland is whenever you have the chance, absolutely one of the best places I've ever visited- the people were so friendly & kind!

Such a beautiful country and beautiful people. I'm 73 now. If I were 30 years younger, I would surely move to Finland. I have many skills that would be welcome there, I think. And my soul answers to the great, silent open spaces and forests. That's why I have lived in the inland Pacific Northwest for the last 25 years. Thanks again for another great video, Varpu.

I visited Finland in late June of 2006, so I was fortunate to experience the midnight sun and all the wonderful Midsummer festivities. Most of the trip was in and around Helsinki, but I also got to head up to Suohlahti and stay at a wonderful cabin on Keitele lake, complete with a fantastic sauna. Finland is a gem. I would go again in a heartbeat!

I visited southern Finland in July 2022, and I really enjoyed my stay there, it was neither cold nor very hot, and I was able to go on beautiful hikes and relax by the lake. I plan to go back to visit Lapland this time and see auroras . Thank you Varpu for this video

I went to Finland in November and December and loved every minute. Saw Aurora in Lapland and even Uusimaa. I’m Canadian so I love winter, cold, and dark. Going back in a couple weeks for February and March. Rakastan Suomen talvi 🇫🇮

In my opinion, at least here in Oulu, the best times are the middle of summer, the middle of winter and early fall. September is amazing if you want to hike.

Thanks for sharing Varpu. I've only visited in May and June. But I'm so curious to head there in December.

I just returned from my first visit to Finland in January where I spent 7 nights in Inari, Lapland and 10 nights in Helsinki (Hotel Grand Central) and it was magical beyond belief. I met cousins for the first time, who were incredibly warm & welcoming! I could go on and on about how much I love Finnish culture and how much I learned about Inari Sami. 🇫🇮 My love for Finland is immense! Thank you for your videos Varpu, they helped me prepare! ❤

I enjoy all of your videos! I have family in Finland, Rovaniemi and Vasa specifically. I was advised to visit in August when the tourist season is over and it is more economical. I've enjoyed every August visit.❤

I actually learnt to love finnish springs when snow is melting. Some days the weather is warm and the sunshine is super strong and it's reflecting from the snow (always wear sunglasses or you go blind). Some days you get snow or slush or rain and in the nights everything frozes again. Raining improves the air quality a lot especially in the cities so it's a blessing for people which have got any breathing issues like asthma or allergies. Nothing green grows yet but you can hear birds going wild. It's like the beginning of life after a very long and dark and cold winter.

Hello Varpu, I’m watching you here in Sydney Australia and can relate to what you say in this video. We have been in Sydney since 1959, however I have been back a number of times to visit my homeland. Mostly between December and March and once in June. I agree with what you are saying about conditions in the different times of the year. Being a Finn living in Australia it didn’t greatly matter to me what time I visited. They were all so different to life here that I enjoyed every trip. Our Summer weather can reach to over 40Degrees Celsius and go into Minus temperatures in Winter.Continue your great videos, I love seeing your stories.See ya.💕

Helpful / informative video with lovely host who sparkles with enthusiasm for Finland!

We hope to see the northern lights and are exploring travel plans for late Feb / early March. We plan to fly to / from Helsinki and take the overnight train to Rovaniemi. Looking for an AirBNB.

I would definitely have to visit in winter, I don’t get snow where i live and I’m sure it’s a winter wonderland, I hope they have some cool military museums too

I'm from Northern Minnesota. Your weather sounds almost the same as ours, though we don't have the extremes of light and dark.

I agree. April and early May are nothing but dead looking plants and mud.

We visited relatives in Finland in June and July. The weather was beautiful, the scenery spectacular, and the people very friendly. I want to go back.

May is great up here in the North. June is good also before the mosquito season but sometimes the lakes are still frozen. The mosquito seasons have changed the last few years to shorter seasons. There were not as many hanging around to Autumn.

I visited last September (2023) spent time in Helsinki and Turku with a day trip to Estonia. The weather was fine, extended summer however the only thing I found was that some of the tourist cruises had finished in August. Public transport was great went to Turku by train. I was born in Finland and got my Finnish passport in 5 days - such an efficient country. Looking at coming back again this year for summer. Like your videos BTW Varpu.
