In Unity 2017, they removed Emit from Shell and replaced it with Radius Thickness. Set "Radius Thickness" to 0 to get it to emit from shell, and play around with 3D start rotation.
Great video though.

Hi Gabriel, my Sprite in the particle system does always have some kind Transparency, the sprite always looks a bit greyed-out, why is this so? I made the Material as Particles/Additive, don't know why this is... When I look at the sprite in the inspector is has the normal color, and also when i click the material, in the inspector it has also a normal color don't know why this is. Greetings

Why do you set max particle count of a fragments particle system to 40 and in emission bursts between 30 and 100? You can with the same result set it between 30 and 40
