A 14-year-old Muslim boy, who was detained after taking a homemade clock to school in the US state of Texas, said he remains suspended from classes at MacArthur High School.

Police withdrew charges against Ahmed Mohamed, but his arrest and suspension ignited a wave of criticism of police and the school and raised suspicions that they had overreacted because of the boy’s religion.

Among those expressing their support on social media were US President Barack Obama – who invited him to bring the clock he had made to the White House; Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg.

Goooo ahmed!
The future is bright for you 👏🏾👏🏾. And for that teacher that has misconseptions about muslims should look at the mirror EVERYDAY. She tried to put ahmed into SHAME but it got him OPPORTUNITIES that people would dream about.

We live in an age of zero tolerance for such things.  If a student can be suspended for biting a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun, certainly there have to be consequences for bringing a suitcase into school that resembles a bomb.  A boy genius should realize that.  Probably did.
