My smart house automated Morning Routine!

My morning routine starts just before the alarm on my phone goes off. My bed side lamp slowly dims up from 0-75% 15 minutes before my main alarm goes off and the thermostat kicks on to warm up the house before I get up in the winter

After I get out of bed and walk into the hallway, a few things happen. my bedside lamp dims down to 1% so my wife isn’t woken while I get ready, but gives enough light so I can see. It will also turn itself off 10 minutes later.
Then, the hallway and bathroom lights come on to 40% brightness.
The House alarm is also disarmed by changing the mode from asleep to home at this time, but ONLY after my alarm goes off.

After I’m done in the bathroom and walk into the kitchen the living room and kitchen lights turn on. A weather report is given to me through VLC thing as well as any other reminders I have set for that day. I.E. garbage reminder.

When I reach the kitchen, the lights are already on and Keurig heated up. The under cabinet LED’s display a color telling me if im running late or not. White - more than 20 minutes. Green - 10-20 minutes. Yellow 2 - 10 minutes. Red less than 2 minutes. Flahing red- late.

I brew my coffee and make my breakfast and when im ready to head out the door, I push a “tile” on my ActionTiles ran tablet.
Opens my garage door
After 2 minutes, turns off all the lights
After 2 minutes, arms the security again

how do you get your light bulb to slightly dim up?

Wondering if you could do a video on how you programmed and setup the color changing of the under cabinet lights with the time delay you described. I know it would be nice to set something up in my kids rooms like that. They have hue color lights in their rooms so I believe i'm 3/4 the way there. keep the videos coming

If your looking for a device to shut the garage door behind yourself, try a sonoff switch as you can set it up to nest!

Hey Andrew, I was just curious if you are still using these routines, or if you've switched things up? I also use smartthings and actiontiles, and find myself constantly tweaking routines. Also, I was wondering why you prefer to manually activate some of your routines such as leaving on days, instead of using a presence sensor to automate the process? I think there would be times I would forget to press a tile, especially when in a hurry leaving for work. Thanks for all of the informative videos, I've certainly learned a lot from your channel!

This isn’t hate because the video has good content but my bit of constructive feedback would be try and put a it of enthusiasm in your voice as the monotone can be very off putting and uninteresting. Hope this helps
