Of course these are all just ideas, and you could implement just a few so your house isn’t TOO automated (wait, is that possible…?)

You must hate going to friends houses where you have to touch a light switch

Reed: "You wanna go on a walk...?"
Luna: *jumps off couch*
Reed: "Tonight"
Really had to play her dirty there

The amount of programming routines into Smarthings, Alexa, Home hub, etc etc to pull all this off must be epic. Then the spreadsheets to keep track of them all for reference and maintenance boggles the cranium.
My ex hated automation and despised my little echo dot when it gave me the news flash each morning. Your wife is a keeper.
Well done.

And I thought I was a wizard when I told alexa to turn my bedroom lights blue 😂

I have been building my smart home for the last 2 years, but recently started expanding to more intricate automations Thank you so much for testing all these products and giving in depth automation guidance. I probably watch 5-6 of your videos a week. 😁

All these ideas are so amazing, I like the exercise routine and I can't just help to be amazed about how creative one person can be, I have a suggestion and doubt, do you use a system to keep all the cameras together? cause I am thinking in using Ajax, if you are not familiar with it, its a system that allows to synchronize and keep all the cameras in one single place, now I wonder if it can synchronize with Alexa? cause in here she seems to do way much more, definitely, it would be good to know, thank you beforehand.

Omg these vids make me laugh more each time! Now show us the frustrating side when things don't work. Alexa giving you the "i'm having trouble connecting to the internet" speech, the robot getting stuck under dishwasher door and crying for help, and the cameras recognizing a bug as a person and alerting you at 2 in the morning lol.

I'd love to see how you've set up all the wiring and plugs for all the lights and light strips, especially in the kitchen. We don't have a whole lot of outlets where I could easily hide the cables, so that's one of my main challenges to get wife-approval for adding more smart lights to the house

Some of these ideas are awesome. At first, I liked the pressure sensor turning things on (eg if you have an alarm go off every day but one day is a public holiday, you might not want your morning routine to start when the alarm is stopped), though I wonder how it would work if you get up to get a glass of water or visit the bathroom. The NFC chips are a great idea, especially with people working from home, which obviously has become more frequent recently. One thing that blew me away was that 'if you haven't opened the backdoor after 8pm and go into the kitchen, it reminds you to take the rubbish out', that is crazy (and something I sorely need, haha). And the TV pausing if someone rings your doorbell is a very nice touch also. Thanks heaps for the video!

Here is an idea. Newer toilette have separate #1 and #2 flushes so automate a way to detect the #2 flush and light up the bathroom door red to warn family members not to enter. Light goes off after 10 minutes when the smell clears. Also have the vent run on timer to ensure the vent continue after you get out.

Alright I was on board with everything until I saw that your wife swipes her phone to let you know she has started cooking 😂 I have no idea how she hasn't burned the place down.
