We move to Wenatchee 3.5 years ago, and while we like the area and want to stay, most of the jobs don't pay enough to keep up with the cost of housing. We are really struggling to survive. Lots of wealthy people coming here from Seattle and the cheap electricity is attracting the data centers and tech jobs, so the place is growing, but your average person isn't getting paid enough to keep up with the cost of living.

You forgot to mention that the there is a college, an awesome medical clinic and a hospital in Wenatchee that attracts a lot of seniors who dont want to be stuck in traffic everyday. Many upsides and downsides like many mid size cities.

Bathed in the beautiful sceneries of WA state without state income tax, but a lot more sunny days than Seattle. It's very good.

Personally not a fan of Wenatchee, but it is because I prefer a smaller town. Some years ago I spoke with a fellow educator and this tidbit says alot about Wenatchee. Of all the community colleges in WA State, Wenatchee Valley College had the LOWEST turnover rate for teachers. They come, they like it, they mostly stay, I much prefer Wenatchee to any other eastside city.

The best part about Wenatchee is the Apple Loop bike trail. And the river. And the dramatic views from everywhere. Houses cost too much though

Ooof! $250.00 to $500.00 a month for electricity? That sounds very expensive compared to what I pay per month. But I left Wenatchee a long time ago. I pay £112.00 a month at most, but that's in England. You say that that's the lowest for the national average? Well, in that case, I guess you have a lot to be thankful for! I do miss Wenatchee. It's such a beautiful place, and as the saying goes, there's no place like home x
