The shot of you screaming into the pillow made the whole short worth it. And made me want to be your friend

You're doing the Lord's work, Chris ;) Thanks for being such a reliable font of practical singing wisdom! More candid videos of you working through these processes would be very welcome. You wouldn't even have to give explanations--just examples on which we can model our attempts! (I've bought two of your courses, so I don't feel guilty about asking for more free content, but I promise I'll schedule a lesson with you soon!)

I tend to sing very chilled songs like ballads when I'm at home. I also try to sing during the work day (I work from home so I can take breaks to sing), so that there's a lower chance of inconveniencing someone at home. I also try to not do it every day, or if I do, do it consecutively for two days and then keep noise minimal for the next two.

I live at the end of a hallway in a smallish apartment, so I try to sing in the room at the end of my apartment, closest to the end of the building. Because of where it's situated, there's only the upstairs and downstairs neighbours that can hear it, and it's also not directly under or above their main apartment areas (the kitchen and living room space) so they're less likely to hear if they're not above or below me.

If I've sang belty songs, I'll often move over to practicing voice acting or something else to work my voice without having to make as much consistent or high volume noise. The dynamics thing mentioned in the video is also very relevant, and singing with a blanket over the head is also something I've done a couple times, notably when I'm in bed joining people on Smule.

I could still do more, but I haven't had a complaint yet (that I'm aware of, my landlord hasn't sent me anything) and I've sang in this apartment almost weekly for years. The sound proofing is awful here too, though it's not the absolute worst there is.

As a truck driver myself this gives me a great scenario to practice my vocals in. It’s not perfect & can be full of distractions but I’ve found it gives me freedom to experiment ❤️💯🤘🏼🔥

I usually do this when I wake up, while I'm going to the loo and getting ice for me drink I'll just make noises, go up and down through my range a few times, sing the same line or two in different keys. Helps wake me up and it's nice to just have a play around :)

Brilliant. You think of everything. I usually tell my wife to turn up the tv as I head to the cold cellar for my vocal warm ups 😀. Thank you

the only problem I have with this is I can't record myself to listen back how I sound and fix that OR create music like covers etc. Yea you can get something done but it's like getting 1/3 of the work I need

By the way, there is a strange thing. For me it is really easy to reach high pitched screams singing into pillow, but when i put it away, i can't leave the distortion. I think it somehow affects breathing support.
