If you are getting stuck with your PoB or Melee Build for League start, some of these tips could help you troubleshoot your issues. This is also focused on newer players.

regarding mobility: after doing the island you have access to frostblink, you only need 1 (blue) socket and 20 int (Versatility node near start), I oftend find it much easier to find one blue socket that R-G and have scroll for leap/FA depending on what you took from quests

FB can be more usefull (you will need fire blink for end game) as its a teleport rather than move skill, so leap slam will get you hit with stuff (for example mavens rotating lasers that give u degen) while blinks actually teleport you

one note on the mana thing. Until you get the syndicate craft Praxis rings cost 1c most leagues and can help with the mana cost as well

I have ONLY played Melee since Sacrifice of the Vaal, had to delete a bunch of chars because i rand out of space to make more Slayer cyclone Builds, feels nice to get some Melee love again, Legion League was amazing

Adding endurance charge on mele stun on your leap slam will be extra nice early with the buffs to the charges

Melee is pretty good. Especially the skills you can use that have some range and gmpp and some shotgun. Then they scale really well and maps well.

If you start melee and are in Pain until you reach sunder ... you can mule Frostblades from Ranger.

Another Tip for those who will play Lightning Strike, is to use Wild Strike because for LS to feel good you need projectile quantity and pierce while WS you don't need anything just switch to LS for boss.
As for me I will league start as a 100% lightning Wild Strike because I love this skill and I find Lightning Strike extremely cluncky and its hurting my eyes.

I already know about smite but you didn't push to far enough because if you use Innervate link with Smite, you gain 2 "aura" base lightning damage.
