Thank you. I have had this utility for >10yrs and had forgotten how to use. I have 26000 picture files to rename and sort. Going to test with a smaller folder before I go large....

Marcus, I can't thank you enough. I have 4000 photos to edit, scale the size, color correct, etc. and then put in separate folders and rename adding a prefix for the negative file page number. I've was doing it by hand for about 1200 before I thought to search for a way to bulk rename, and found you. Didn't know such a thing was possible and this program is incredible! Now I can rename of folder of 36 photos in a few seconds. Only 3, 000 more to go! Thanks again.

how does one set filter conditon? example like say i want to filter files that end with HighDef, i tried filtering alone but it shows all files that have HighDef regardless of location of the word in file name, yet i only want it to show files that end with that word, after googling i learned that i need to set conditions to achieve that but problem is the steps in the manual are complex for me to understand could you please reply to this question

Edit: It did not work. It takes the files from Win Explorer and resorts by file number. It does not display column "Date" from Explorer. I have 2 cameras working at the same time so the time stamps need to be in order. Bulk Rename has a column Created = all files show 12/31/1979 Modified = all files show 4/26/2024 Accessed = 4/28/2024.

Thank you. Using media files from 2 sources, importing them in to editing software, the date/time stamp was getting messed up. Adding a numeric prefix to all the files corrects this issue. It worked!!!Showing all columns in Bulk Rename

Thank you so much for sharing this! Had a similar scenario where I had thousands of video frames to number for my editing software. First thing that showed up when I searched was the Python code method. Which I spent hours trying to wrap my head around, and it completely messed up the order. Downloaded this software and followed you basic instruction, and I was able to sort it all out in less then 5 minutes! :)

Hi Marcus - hope you are well. Any thoughts on why when I import files it will not keep them in sequence... example: the file name is "testpage-1" testpage-10" "testpage-100" "testpage-11" "testpage-12" until it gets to the twenties, then it's "testpage-2" "testpage-20" "testpage-21" etc. same for thirties, fourties

In the actual file it's numbered correctly and in the proper order so I'm curious if you have any thoughts on why it's doing this?
Thx - Dewey

Can you do this with folders and sub folders or only files? I've tried this method on folders, but it does not seem to work

Thank you for this shortcut! It's saving me so much time. There's something I'm trying to do that I can't quite figure out. If I have a file named as us0d-3456 and want it to be us0d-0003456 how do I get those leading zeros after the hyphen? I have thousands of files that have anywhere from 4-6 digits that I need them all to have exactly 7 digits using leading zeros... Thank you!
