This is a very powerful utility that allows you to rename multiple file name values at once.

I just came back to this video to make a backup mirror of the application, should the website go down, and I noticed a few things.
First of all, that was a very poor microphone, I don't even recognize myself. Secondly, I realize that the better solution for removing the initial numbers would have been to use RegEx. I suppose at the time I just didn't feel like entering the RegEx since the only numbers in the file names were the numbering prefixes. However, I'm not sure why I didn't choose to pad the new prefixes with a zero.

Oh well, I hope you find the application useful! I've posted an extra mirror in the description, should the main site go down.

I wanted to thank you for posting this. I was trying to use powershell but I didn't have SP2 and spent over 6 hours trying to update my computer. just before I was about to throw the brick across the room I found your post. I had over 6000 files to rename and this saved my day it took me 5 minutes!

You never know what you are going to learn. I'm already quite familiar with tBRU but I watched you move files using drag and drop and I never knew you could use the address bar for this in Windows. I always dragged them using the tree.

In windows explorer, I have TITLE on my listing for the tracks, but I don't see anything for TITLE on Bulk Rename Utility. I attempted to delete the word REMASTERED from the song titles, but after I checked back to windows explorer I noticed the word REMASTERED was still listed under TITLE, although BRU did remove the word under the filename section. Any way to remove this word under TITLE? Thanks.

Thanks dude, was searching for exactly that. A noob-friendly program, no coding required. At first glance the program looks bulky and overcomplicated, but after further testing it seems to be an wonderful program with great functionality

That looks disgusting !! AND stop drooling, it's disgusting ..
It should look like this or our eyes will bleed..
"20 Peter Gabriel - (Passion) - It Is Accomplished.mp3"

And use Total Commander, it has a multi rename tool that works perfectly and it's simple to use..

I could kiss you. Had over 4000 files in which a program had added the text "-1-1" to all of them. This program removed it from all of the files and solved my problem in under 5 minutes.

Great video! I have a challenge and hope you could help. What I am trying to achieve can be best described with example. For example. If my main folder is X and inside X I have files then their names would be X---"file name". If inside of X I have a folder Y then the names of the files in folder Y should be X---Y---"File name". In cases there is another subfolder (lets call it Z) then the name of the files in Z will be X---Y---Z---"File Name". Now let me tell you what I understand how to do up to now and what I don't. I know how to use Append Folder Name and set the levels according to how deep the folder is. However, this is really time consuming since I don't know how many levels the main folder X has and it will also require from me to dig in and always change Levels for each subfolder. My Question is then, How can I let it know that The parent folder should be X and each time it is going down another folder that it will use the upper folders names with separators all the way up to folder X. I know it is challenging but I am sure someone as sophisticated as you are can help with this.
