long video today, but thats because we have a lot to talk about. A Disney cast member story video today, my journey, what cast member roles I had and of course Disney vip tours fun! This what is was like to work for Disney In a way, I could get more detailed on each role, however I don't want to go into to much detail simply because It's my former employer and I would never talk bad nor give away any Disney secrets. Obviously I did quit my Disney job awhile ago, here is sort of a look at a day in the life of a cast member. I close look at what it is like to work for Disney AND my experiences.

“Working for Disney is not all roses and butterflies.”
That true with working for any company.

My mom and I got to meet you when you were working merchandise and you were so nice to talk with us and take pictures and make a video for my niece. You definitely added some Disney magic to our trip, cast members like you are so appreciated by us!

Great advice about leaving for better opportunities. The days when workers were rewarded for loyalty and longevity are pretty much a thing of the past in any company.

I worked at Disney during high school and college. I started two months after opening. My first job was as a Monorail Operator for 3.5 years. I was the youngest in the Monorail position, at 17. I was selected, along with five others, as opening trainers and leads at Space Mountain. We arrived in September 1974, four months before the official opening on January 15, 1975. It was still a construction site. We wrote an SOP, qualified ourselves, and then Tomorrowland management. We had to train about 180 cast members before opening. I stayed there for one year. A friend who had been an hourly Monorail Operator was now a Tomorrowland Supervisor. She suggested I might want to go to work for her brother, who was the Manager of Cash Control. I was a teller and Vault Teller.
I left in April 1979 to begin a 37-year career at American Airlines.
Now, forty-six years later, on December 24, 2023, I received a Christmas card from my friends at Disney.

You're great Kyle. I was a VIP guide at Disneyland in 70's as well as entertainment. Opened EPCOT in 83!

Your video was so interesting, I wish it was longer. Lol I love that you didnt bash Disney for your expectations. Every job has its disappointments and tasks that no one wants to do. Stay safe.

I was CP in 2000. Loved it. My roommate and I wanted to stay. The best advice came from my area manager who told me to get my degree first then come back. I was kind of disappointed she didn’t jump up and down for me to stay but she was right. My sister in law worked for Disney Corporate and said it was extremely difficult to move up. I hope the CP comes back someday - it was the best experience of my life.

I must admit when this came across my feed yesterday I refused to click on it... because I don't want to hear anything bad about Disney... I am planing my first ever Disney experience soon and I want it to be beautiful in my heart and mind... so to see that you loved it and you have nothing really bad to say makes my heart very happy... Thank You!!!

My daughter did the college program in fall of 2019 and finished Jan 1 2020 and then Covid hit so she was so happy she did take the position and not delay it a semester. She got her dream job as well! She got costuming.

It's funny that I found this video because you actually helped me find a sandwich one time and were extremely kind. We were in Hollywood studios and you told me the place to go was one of the resorts that were connected to the Skyliner. It was a pretty delicious sandwich and I never would have thought to go there

Thank you so much for sharing your journey in Disney . You showed it in a positive light, but you are telling us some of the reality of the position. I have a cousin who worked for Disney from the mid 70s to 2008. She started as a Monorail operator and finished in Casting. I think she met her husband there. He worked as a chef in Biengarten. They did not choose to leave, they were laid off in 2008 during the economic slowdown at the time. I am happy you were and still are pursuing a career that you have a passion for. Nothing worse than to be in a job that you hate and dread everyday. I know, I have been there. Again, thank you for sharing. Looking forward to your next vlog and enjoy yourself in my home away from home, Saratoga Springs.

Away we go (away we go),
it’s a Festival of Fantasy! Beauty and majesty, shining magically! Dreams that glow (dreams that glow), wondrous, dazzling brilliantly. So, away we go. It’s a Festival of Fantasy!
That parade's lyrics are so catchy, being the parade control is quite a fun job
