If you don't want to smile, choose to be a villain! Maleficent has a scowl on her face the entire time and says things like "You're not welcome" to guests who tell her "Thank you" XD

Hi there! I used to work for the mouse, I got to get all the characters ready for their days in the Kingdom! Pointing out the Incorrect: Tiana’s height also starts at 5’4 like some of the other girls; The largest size Disney carries is between a 12-14, depending on the princess/gown; They don’t *fire* you once you’re too old/no longer look the part of a princess; either they will give you another role at the park (as per your discretion) or they’ll give you another character to be friends with. There are plenty of other characters that are older- Fairy Godmother, Lady Tremaine, and pretty much all fur characters as long as you’re of the right height and possess the energy. Additionally, YES all face characters are trained to be fur characters but rarely do princesses get to be the common fur characters, because their height is often between 5’4-5’7, and many of the fur characters are way shorter or way taller. They’re between-size gals. If a performer needs more than 5 days of training to completely master their character, they are absolutely given that because Disney prioritizes “Good Show”. Disney doesn’t make these rules to be mean or discriminatory. As per good-show, they just want their characters to be as true to the movies and books as possible. It’s never anything personal against anyone’s body-type or face.

Always amazed at how professional they are. Did a character lunch with our daughter and even I was star-struck. Total rock stars. Gracious, beautiful and charming. Daughter was in heaven. Worth every cent.

I worked in the entertainment department at Disney World, and can honestly say so many of these things are completely wrong. The height and size requirements and the winter costumes for starters. Snow White has a different size requirement and has the largest dress size out of all the princesses. Her costume can go larger than a size 10. Also, the princesses wouldn't play Minnie Mouse. Her height max is smaller than the princesses. A common fur character for them to play is Pluto. All of the princesses do in fact have winter clothes. This correlates with the Disney animated series and sequels which show them having cold weather clothing.

If the actresses have to sleep like their character does that mean that whoever is playing Aurora has to sleep for 100 years🤷‍♀️

One time we were going to the park and the young girl at security who looked and talked EXACTLY like Anna. We talked to her and she said it was her dream to become Anna and that she hoped she might catch someone’s attention while working at the security. I really hope that she ended up getting the role, she was so dedicated and nice.

What you mean “discriminates” against people of a certain size.

Disney Princesses are literally skinny.

It ain’t discrimination to not let a fat girl be a disney princess actor, as her body literally doesn’t fit the role.

My mom knows someone who worked at Disney as either Chip or Dale, I don't remember which. She told my mom about a time some college kids started harassing her, even going as far as touching her chest to see if if it was a man or woman under the costume. She tried to get away, but apparently those costumes are hard to move in and she ended up tripping and falling over, and apparently it's nearly impossible to stand up while wearing those costumes. Thankfully park officials came and intervened.

to some people in the comment section.
1: quit pulling the race card. not all Disney princesses are white. jasmine, tiana, moana, and pocahontas aren't white. obviously you're letting "white privilege" speak before thinking that maybe you'll look like an idiot.
2: this is not cosplay. this is a job. all jobs have a certain requirement before you can have a job. according to dunkin donuts, you have to be very friendly and outgoing if you want to work there and act politely to customers who are being rude. this is a business, not a hobby. they want them to look like the princess so that even the adults can tell the type of quality Disney has is top notch.
3: stop pulling the gender/sex card. no a man cannot be a Disney princess. it ties in with the quality thing I brought up in the 2nd point. jasmine is a young woman, not a 23 yr old man. I know it sounds harsh and tumblr will get on my case but it's a business. not a hobby.
4: the weight card? really? appearance plays a huge part and it's clearly stated that you have to look like the other actresses to get the job. it looks a bit strange to see a super skinny Elsa and then come back to see she's curvy.
IT'S A BUSINESS NOT A HOBBY.
if you're really that concerned about it, dress up and walk around your house or con as the princess. you won't get paid unless you enter into and contest and win but you won't be fired or rejected for being too tall or too wide.
