The band was only around for 5 years but they produced quite a few hit songs and were highly influential to many bands that came later. They are still played on classic rock stations daily.

The video is modern and superfluous. The song is a classic. An iconic sound of the era. John's voice is epic Americana folk.

Something about this song is so simple and peaceful, yet catchy. It reminds me of the simple peacefulness of listening to rain falling on a roof. The gravel in his voice is so unique and pleasant, and the way he chooses to arrange and sing the vocals is also so unique and so nice.

That’s John Fogerty on lead vocals, the band’s frontman and main songwriter. He’s always had that great kind of high yowl to his singing. And his simple songs have always lasted.

John Fogerty is still performing at 80 and tearing it up.

My favorite CCR song is "Long as I can see the Light"! Also love "Run through the Jungle" and "Fortunate Son".

Everytime I am outside and it is sunny but you get those sprits of rain, even when the sun is shining, I think of this song.

I grew up listening to CCR, this is a blast of nostalgia for me.

CCR has several popular songs.
The main one you may have heard before is “Fortunate Son.” That one gets used a lot. The joke is anytime there’s a Vietnam movie, and an H-1 Huey (helicopter) starts up, this song starts up too.

Other good ones to check out after Fortunate Son:

I Heard It Through the Grapevine
Long As I Can See the Light
I Put a Spell on You
Proud Mary
Travelin Band
Run Through the Jungle
Lookin Out My Back Door

This is one of the bands I grew up with. Christmas 69 my grandmother gave me CCR’s first album, I was 12. I loved my grandma’s love of music.

CCR came out of the San Francisco area, but their signature style had a very southern sound and a lot of their songs had southern themes. Fans called their music "swamp rock". In that respect, I think "Have You Ever Seen the Rain" is actually much less "swampy" than most of their big hits. That country sound you noticed will be even more pronounced on other CCR songs. One piece of advice -- if you pick a CCR song to react to and you find there is a version that is three or four minutes long and another version that is eight or nine minutes, listen to the long one. The album versions of their songs sometimes include long instrumental jams that are really outstanding and the versions that were edited down for radio play omitted a lot of truly great music.

Such a fantastic band! And a great reaction Bisscute! You should check out more CCR! 🙂 This song is actually very personal and deep, it's about depression and feeling unhappy. This video has nothing to do with the song however and is just taken from some movie. The song first came out in 1971.

Lead singer John Fogerty wrote and performed some wonderful songs with his band CCR from way back in the '60's. This beautiful song sets off so many lovely heart-warming memories for me. Bisscute, PLEASE react to their excellent version of the great Marvin Gaye hit, 'Heard It Through The Grapevine' ❤

This my favorite song by CCR .. Grew up during the Vietnam era and there’s a song called FORTUNATE SON you should check out by CCR as well. One of their big hits!! 🪖☮️

Hughie & Starlight! Yep, that is them from The Boys (Jack Quaid and Erin Moriarty). This video was made for CCR's 50th Anniversary and to pay tribute to the song, which originally came out in 1971. Sidenote, it was filmed in Montana. I grew up in Montana until I turned 21 and this song hits all the nostalgic notes. One of my faves! Glad you enjoyed it! They have so many great songs, so definitely dive into their catelog.

To all of our Vietnam Vets, thank you for paving the way for us Vets that came after, only we were treated a lot better than you all were after returning home. We all know the sacrifices you all made for us and our country and will forever be grateful to you all. Nothn better than some CCR. Greatest American vocalist/frontman, John Fogerty.🙏🇺🇸
