An important tip is to not leave your pressure washer idling without pulling the trigger for more than a minute. You can ruin seals, and other parts. I have seen guys move ladders around to other parts of the house while leaving it running. Also, make sure the water pressure coming out of the faucet is strong enough, a weak water flow can ruin the pump.

Glad to have watched this! I love pressure washing. Pressure washed for 16 hours this past weekend and lost my O ring and couldn’t figure out how. Now I know after watching your video! I will def buy a bag of them to keep on hand. I live in the country and had no time to make the trip to get another one before dark. 😔

Good stuff, Chris! Please ADD this Safety Tip: ALWAYS begin use of the pressure washer by testing the nozzle & gun connection with a few blasts aimed toward the ground or in an open direction that won't potentially hit anything or anyone. This safety checks that the nozzle is securely connected to your gun or extensions. Just like a failed O-Ring, a nozzle quick connect that isn't securely locked in place prior to releasing water pressure can potentially shoot off the end and cause damage or harm to someone! I've seen many a rookie move to pressure wash a house or a car and find the nozzle gets launched off the gun and into the house, car, windows, etc.! Also periodically check that your nozzle quick connect fittings aren't damaged from drops or worn. Damaged nozzle connections can also fail during use and launch off the gun. Always work with gear after performing a safety check! ;)

I'm preparing to restrain a fence with the same colour that was on it already (barn red) there is a lot of algae and other crap that has built up on it over the years. How can I pressure wash it to remove all the filth without stripping all the old stain off and fraying the wood? My pressure washer is 5, 000 psi but I can control the psi by controlling the throttle, i.e half throttle would be 2, 500 psi... Should I use a rotary tip in this case? Or a 40? Thanks in advance !

Could you tell me why my nozzle stops spinning and comes out directly like 0 Degrees with no rotation? My $75 dollar one wont spin anymore and i tried taking it apart. Doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it and I don’t find anything stuck inside. So strange.
