Hello, I’m Joe - I’m a guitar player, singer-songwriter, producer, recording engineer and teacher!

On this channel you’ll find my original songs, covers and solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements. My favorite music doesn’t fit neatly in a box so you may hear me play folk, blues, jazz, & classic rock - you can call it what you want; I feel honored to speak this timeless language of melody, harmony & rhythm.

I was born on May 25th 1991 in Kempsey, NSW, Australia. Since 2010 I have been based in the US and currently live in the Rocky Mountains of Montana with my wife, Genevieve (who teaches illustration on YouTube!).

I play Maton acoustic guitars, made in Australia (just like me) and am very proud to have my own signature instrument, the JR Signature!

In addition to song performances, you will also find guitar lessons, chord breakdowns, TAB, tutorials, gear reviews and other guitarist related content to help you stay inspired on the instrument.

Please subscribe and ring the bell etc. 🔔
Cheers!
Joe

All those years in Nashville...and you've still got your accent. A sign of great character:). I've been waiting for this album for years!

That was super interesting. Not sure if you've ever listened to George Ezra's podcast, but one of the cool things he does, especially with newish artists, is to talk about the creative and production process in a way an artist describes it along with the challenges and stuff. That's the bit we don't get to see or think about and for me it makes it all the more interesting. I liked seeing the different takes of that song and yeah, definitely the acoustic guitars were awesome. And definitely nice to hear you talk about the process, like you want to talk about it and without journalist spin.

Nice, thanks for sharing Joe. You seem like such a genuine guy and I like that you don't do videos like some of the other guys here on YT that ramble/babble their way with 130 km/h, fast clipping and what not. They are just too shallow to take serious. So, way to go Joe!

Love the new album. Interesting you wrote it with a member of Tonic. To me, that move to (what sounds like) the E chord in that progression is almost signature Tonic, many of whose songs I really loved. Saw you in Austin, TX, now back in Melb, Aust so pls tour here again soon. Love your work.

Nice one...I love watching these types of videos! Maybe you could play along with some of the trickier parts as the series progresses, or go further into explaining technically what's going on with the overdubs, effects and chord progressions etc etc.
I also used a variation of that chord progression as a long ass outro to my last song upload ; )

Nice process.
I agree, the version you just about went with...sounded like what anyone could do. Elevator music.

It'll be inspiring seeing all the process and how you come up with the ideas ..

Loved the original take, your acoustic playing is one of my favorites, always great arrangements!

Loooove the whole album, that's the one I chose to get the handwritten lyrics but could have been any song! So cool to have an insight in your work, thank you!
