Tucker Carlson actually likes Elizabeth Warren's plan for the economy, because it's a lot like Trump's. Lord Killian has fun with this one!

0:03 "Which party has embraced economic nationalism?"
Both of them, Tucker. Both the Democrats & the Republicans are anti-free trade & support immigration restrictions. That makes them economically nationalist (and probably also legit racist) by definition.

Me (running up to conservatives): You guys! I've been basically left-leaning and distrustful of capitalism most of my life, but I've been giving it a lot of thought and done a lot of research, and I've listened to everything you've been saying about how Obama is socialist and socialism is bad, and I've decided that I support moving our economy in a more free-market direction.

Conservatives: Dude ... that's so 2012. We're all protectionists now.

Politics: the art of using euphemisms, lies, emotionalism and fear-mongering to dupe average people into accepting--or even demanding--their own enslavement.

Well Tucker Carlson is a paleoconservative. So it makes sense for him to agree with Warren on economic issues.

Reminds me of this poll of 5 types of Trump voters:

The group which supported him the most were the preservationists which are basically the opposite of libertarians (very socially conservative but fiscally progressive as well as supporting protectionism). It seems that Tucker Carlson is moving in that direction, becoming more economically progressive while retaining support for immigration restrictions. Staunch conservatives used to be in support of free trade, now they're divided.

The establishment want to legalise weed not for the sake of freedom, but for regulatory capture, taxation and weed store licensing. Maybe there's also a small part of being seen as obviously wrong, in the eyes of a average voter, to ban a harmless plant that caused 0 deaths ever. The politicians would rather feed us breadcrumbs of freedom(weed legalization) then give us freedom in full(tax abolishment and mass deletion of billions of laws).

I'm convinced that the reason he criticized the Koch brothers is because they are the opposite of one another. The Kochs donated to conservative and libertarian think tanks as a means of promoting economic freedom. They've also donated money for criminal justice reform and criticized Trump for his immigration policy.

Carlson did a segment the otehr day criticizing hedge fund manager, Paul Singer forobtaining debt from countries in financial trouble and for causing a merger of Cabela's which led to the company leaving Sydney Nebraska, putting many people out of a job and trapping people in as property values fell. It just so happens that Singer is a contributor to the republican party who wishes that they were better on gay marriage.

In essence, Tucker Carlson can be characterized as taking a conservative stance on social issues such as immigration and criminal justice whilst siding with democrats on economic issues. Paul Singer and Charles Koch are the opposite of this, pushing for economic freedom, immigration reform, and LGBT freedom.

Hey Shane. Sorry to bother you but I recently got into a debate and John D Rockefeller was brought up as an argument against free capitalism. Stating that him buying up railways for oil export was building into a natural monopoly and he had to be stopped.

I'm not American so I don't know much about this situation. Care to share your thoughts and perhaps some sources where I could learn more.

1:42 And yet protectionism in the US pretty much dates back all the way to the beginning. In fact, they were much higher in the past than they are now.

P.S. I'm not actually arguing in favor of tariffs.
