You should after soldering put silicone di-electric grease on the connector then heat shrink the wire and connector. This will fully insulate the connector from any corrosive elements.

Good video 👍 Something worth warning about though is solder wicking. After you touch up with solder, let it harden and check the flexibility of the cable, then be certain to heat shrink past that point, as heat shrink is primarily for strain relief.

Solder wicking is a real pain. It can lead to premature fatigue failure and it's horrible to track down as it's often an intermittent electrical connection when the wire eventually cracks.
