Lone Wadie: “I notice when you get to dis-likin’ someone, they ain’t around long neither”.

"I didn't surrender either but they took my horse and made him surrender. Got him pulling a wagon up in Kansas I bet."

If only people would know the kind of humble and intellectual man Dan George was. Not just an actor, but a gifted poet and storyteller. The world needs more people like Dan.

RIP Chief Dan George, he would steal every scene he was in regardless of with whom in his easy, laidback soft spoken way. RIP Strother Martin was another one of my favorites who would steal scenes from some of the greatest actors of all times.

"People I like don't stick around long." "I noticed that people that you don't like don't stick around too long, either." One of the best lines ever!

Chief Dan George was an incredible and well chosen addition to this movie. Both he and Clint are incredible together in the film. Their characters are grizzled veterans of horrible things, and they share a mutual respect for it. The Outlaw Josey Wales, in my top 3 favorite westerns.

The Chief was a star. He made his point several times. He wasn't acting, he was telling us history..

In the "Making of..." documentary for this movie, Clint says that Chief Dan George improvised much of his dialogue. Eastwood would give him some general ideas of what to say, and the Chief took it from there.

"Endeavour to persevere".. we thought about that for a long time, and when we had thought about it long enough, we declared war on the Union.."Priceless..
