Man how could y’all not mention the IS300

1st gen comes w a na-2jz, rwd, and some have lsd. It’s insanely fun to drive even stock, I have a 2001 and it came w an lsd plus tein suspension from the factory. It’s so easy to do work on (plus the interior is gorgeous), and the aftermarket support is still there!

The C4 Corvette you can obtain for less than 3k even down to 2k which will outperform pretty much all of these cars and also has good aftermarket.

(Also 51/49 weight distribution)

2006 legacy wagon is what I have. Underrated car with a lot of aftermarket support

Obviously a b5 2.7t is the best beginner car, easy to work on and super cheap

2013-2017 Fiesta ST is a great starter platform. Lightweight 1.6 turbo with a ton of aftermarket support, manual only and they’re cheap, in my area they’re going for 8-12k for a decent one And also a good platform if it’s your first turbocharged car 👍

1st gen Saturn S series. very reliable. U can still get the LSD from Phantom grip and Mfactory like mine has, I bought one, and some RPF1 15X7's they sell coilovers from Hiro Performance also, I got the H&R sport springs and KYB GR2's and an energy suspension master bushing kit, they sell aluminum flywheels, (bought one too) etc, ACT clutch, and u can do like I am doing for a port and polish, dual intake cams, mild seat and bowl work, deshrouding, etc, and a turbo 12-15 PSI build. I'm actually going to buy a set of Hiro coilovers for a rainy day too, and some Seibon kelvar seats to match my Seibon carbon fiber hood. My apology for the rant, mine has a lot of mods already including port and polished intake manifold and bigger TBI, cold air intake and exhaust, just needs more power and I'm doing the engine build and turbo next month...lol And I'm at 2270 LBS. I actually like the fact that it's a little harder to get aftermarket, shows a guys resolve to build anything.

Best car to modify is your first car that way you can fuck it up and learn for your next one

Top three for me when I started driving...
1. Fox body
2. Fox body
3. Third gen F body
By the time I graduate from tech school the first time you could literally mail order a brand new fox body . They made everything from a body in white down to the little clips for the electrical connectors.

A3 wagon. I bought a 2008 a3 wagon with the vr6 motor for 3k in 2018. Put a big turbo in it upgraded intercooler and intake. Straight pipes. Bigger injectors. Remapped the ecu. It's over 600 hp and most likely over 700 an absolute stupidly fast car Put a rs3 gearbox in it. Rs3 breaks. Rs3 spoiler rs3 front bumper rs3 difusser for rear bumper. Rs3 side skirts led headlights rs3 steering wheel. Put a rs3 front display and dash display. Alot of the parts I got used. I put a new motor cause the old motor had 212k 2 weeks ago and blew timing belt and motor. Found motor with 88k for 1200$ and 1000$ to install. I'm into the car around 10k after 7k in parts and new motor and have a 600 plus hp vr6 rs3 wagon in the states. It's a super good looking car and so much fun. The car is an absolute weapon. Ran into this guy the other day. He had a ford focus wagon he spent 21k on then 9k in parts hes into his 30k and it's a 300 hp pos.

09 and up civics, gti, brz. With the price of Miata’s and some clean civics you’re better off buying a newer car with less miles and doing some minor power upgrades to it. Keep in mind it’s great to get a cheaper car to modify it but not fun if it’s always breaking down.

And this is why I have 2 civics a 91 hatch and a 97 sedan
