Fixing EVERY Bad Pokemon (Gens 1-9)

The world of Pokemon is one unlike many other franchises. In it, we have a colorful variety of landmarks, regions, and most importantly, Pokemon. It’s almost impossible to remember them all at this point. However, throughout all 9 generations of Pokemon, there have been shining stars amongst the pile of partners: those who have proven themselves to be staples in any Pokemon playthrough. But for every great Pokemon, there are countless others left in the shadows. In this mega compilation, I'm going to be going through EVERY generation of Pokemon and fixing the worst ones. Perfect video length to fall asleep to!

I love the paradox of Lumineon being the most forgotten pokemon, but is remembered for having that title

Anyone who thinks its weird that purugly is fast has never met a fat cat before. Fat, yes, but still a cat.

Scovillain getting water absorb would be thematic because pepper plants need to be watered very frequently, more so than most other plants in your garden.

I think the thing a lot of people forget about Onix is that it really wasn't designed to be something the player wanted to use. Onix was designed with the intention of being a tutorial boss fight, to help players learn the advantages of the type chart. It hard walls the physical normal moves players would have on most of their mons by the time they reach brock, and presents a challenge that can only be overcome by thinking outside the box a bit. I know "just use special water/grass moves" seems like a really simple & novice solution to us now, but on release when nobody knew anything about the games, it was probably THE thing that got a lot of kids to start considering types.

Onix was pretty perfectly designed for what its job was in gen 1, and as soon as that was no longer it's main job in gen 2, they buffed it (steelix).

I like the straight to the point informative nature of this video. 99% of poketubers nowadays have turned to generic slop content with unnecessary over the top editing

Ledian is not more useful than Spidops, in fact, it wished it was as useful as Spidops.
For one, our little spider friend has a way better stat allocation. Heah, 79 base atk is low by today's standards, but at least is not 30.
Spidops movepool is also leagues better, with supporting options such as Silk Trap (which is pretty good) and Sticky Web, which makes it a way better competitive option than Ledian, because it at least can hold a Focus Sash and do *something* before going down.
What about abilities, eh? The only above average ability Ledian has is Iron Fist, but good luck using it on something with 30 base atk! Spidops, by comparison, has two pretty nice, usable abilities in Insomnia and Stakeout.
We could do this all day, but the sad reality is that, even though Spidops is a huge meme because of its terriblyness, it still has a long way to go to arrive at the gutter trash level Ledian is.

Parasect has a niche! Its the only pokemon that can learn both spore and false swipe while also having accest to the ability Damp, which makes it amazing for shiny hunting in areas where exploding pokemon hang out! … okay thats specific, but its something! And I kinda like pokemon who are bad in battle but have utility elsewhere. I would love to hear more ideas for making pokemon better/more memorable besides making them better in battle. What if delcatty boosted friendship gain while its in your party? What if castform could control the weather outside of battle?

Call me crazy, but I’d give Arbok a lot of priority moves.
Extreme speed, protect, fake out, aqua jet, etc
Maybe even give it its own signature attack that’s a priority move.
Arbok can be physically slow, but all of its moves come out crazy fast.
(And some snakes can swim, so that’s my reason for Aqua Jet)

I really REALLY wish Beheeyem was better. It's one of my favorite psychic types, and I wish the changes you made to it were real. It could've been so sick

Luxray with No Guard would pop off.
I know it's supposed to be a Phsy attacker, but No Guard Thunder would still be pretty darn good.

If Dragon Darts can have a unique animation for when Dragapult specifically uses it, I don't see why Parasect and Vespiquen couldn't each have their own animation for the Order moves.

I disagree with Stunfisk’s changes, as Galarian Stunfisk fulfills the role of a physical Stunfisk. I feel that Stunfisk being a special attacker is much better for giving it identity. I think a more interesting change would be to give it water absorb or even Protean, as its whole gimmick of blending into surroundings to shock the enemy fits as they are naturally in muddy waters.

And if you rather not give it Protean, adaptability is a fine option as it fits (at least concept wise) and also provides it a decent power boost.

Evolutions. Better stats. New type. All of the above is the only way to save them

Gamefreak, just give Meganium thick far as a hidden ability. Mabe Berzerker.

I feel like bad pokemon should exist. Like intentionally bad pokemon make the world of pokemon feel like more than just a battle simulator and they fulfill the niche of self made challenges

43:56 Luxray shouldn't be given Dark type, its supposed to be a Lion, (symbol of the sun), Lux (measure of light), Ray (ray of light), nothing Dark about those things

I always disagree that Masquerain should be Bug/Water, that's like saying Scizor should be Bug/Flying because Scyther is Bug/Flying, there's thematic reasons why Masquerain isn't a water type, it no longer needs water to move and even outright dislikes rain because its wings get wet and it can't fly, if you say Masquerain should be faster because of the pokedex then you can't ignore the pokedex explaining why it's thematically no longer a Water type.

Also Luxray doesn't have "mystical abilities" it's eyes can just do that, no magical powers, that's like saying Charizard breathing fire is magical, even then Dark isn't even a "mystical" type, given the moves like Beat Up, Bite, Sucker Punch, Payback, etc and other Dark types complete lack of "mystical" elements like Sneasel or Poochyena.

I think Grapploct should be Water/Fighting mainly because Galar already has 3 other mono-fighting type pokemon with Falinks, Sirfetch'd and Zamazenta and until gen 9 the only non-legendary or mythical Water/Fighting type was Poliwrath
