Closed Terrarium Care Tips || Do's and Don'ts for best results

This video covers 5 key areas that determines and assures long term success on closed terrarium builds. There aren't too many decent videos on this topic on Youtube so I thought of making one for the benefit of all terrarium owners out there. There are many who make a beautiful terrarium but end up with a dead and putrid terrarium in a couple of weeks. This will happen if the terrarium has not been cared for. Yes you heard it right. A closed terrarium also needs some care even though very very minimal. The tips I have provided in this video if followed will ensure that one does not end up with a dead, decaying or miserable looking terrarium. It will ensure that the terrarium is healthy and will mostly get into a auto pilot mode without the need of much care in the long run.

The care areas covered in this video are
1)Lighting
2)Watering
3)Choice of Plants
4)Maintenance
5)Springtails

I havent seen U on Reddit in a bit. Just wanted to give a big shout out. Show so love and say thanks for some of these tips. Recently my terrariums have taken a sort of turn and I just realized, I refilled with TAP water verse my usual RO.
Duh!
Gonna open them, let them dry out, and re-water/seal correctly. Thanks again!

The springtails when you come in with the tweezers: "The claaaw.." Only maybe funny if you've seen Toy Story. 😆💚

I didn't even know what springtails were! I just redid my terrarium (didn't know how to take care of it so it died in direct sunlight during the 110(Fahrenheit) Summer) and I'll definitely look into them some more

I’m all set- got all supplies- even found a moss in a pot at a nursery...now only questions I need answer to is - 1. do we need to clean/ any process to moss before transferring to terrarium? 2. For English ivy- do we just put a cutting or with root? 3. Where to keep it- does it need ordinary day light ( indoors) or bright light ( Indoors) - pls do answer...as I am preparing one INSPIRED BU YOU ...and your video on soil substrate was soooo helpful!

Very well done. It would be nice to see a video of a 24hr period of a closed terrarium and the ideal condensation and how to gauge when some needs to be added or taken away.
I have a begonia terrarium (5gal) but I have a feeling it has too much water as the condensation is persistent. I'd love to see an ideal condensation cycle for a closed terrarium. Please and thank you.

I’ve been researching for days and this video is by far the quickest and most informative video/article I’ve seen.

If I’m building a closed terrarium with only sphagnum moss as substrate, do I need a liquid type of fertilizer?
