THANK YOU!!! This is so clear and easy to follow. I had unexplained vertigo out of nowhere, and the doctor prescribed hard core dramamine that put me to sleep. A friend told me about the Epley Maneuver. I found this video, and the vertigo lessened after my first try. After a couple days, it was gone completely.

But if you're doing this maneuver, try not to lift your head up while you change positions (keep it tilted down toward the floor as you turn your head and then roll onto your side).

You lifted your head when you turned from right to left but you should have maintained the backward tilt

Woke up with vertigo today. Concerned that my neighbor had vertigo recently requirring medical care. I was closely exposed. Viral vertigo? I had it in my 20s after exposure to a child with vertigo. Is the epley manuvour a good idea withviral vertigo?

Thanks so much for this video, Dr. Caudle! A tech mentioned it to me the previous time that I went to Urgent Care with severe vertigo, but I did not try it. I had to go to UC again three days ago, and no one mentioned it at all, the doctor just gave me some steroids to clear my congestion. Then a neighbor just told me tonite how his doctor put him through the movements, and that it solved his vertigo right away.
So here I am, giving it a try, and I got immediate relief! I am wondering, though… can you do this any time you get BPPV? There is no danger of throwing yourself further off balance in any way, is there?
