Twist locks on trekking poles are never a good idea. There will be failures due to the locks losing compression with the surface of the shaft. I'm an ultralight weenie too but there are a few items like trekking poles locks, that take a ton of abuse that you shouldn't skimp on a durable design. The ridgeline on your tarp/tent for example, your shoes or footwear, things that basically make contact with your body like the pack straps, particularly where they meet your traps. Ultra simple, ultra functional/multiple uses, tends to end up making your end result base weight lower and your setup and breakdown in camp faster, anyhow.

Great video. The only thing you didn’t mention that I was hoping you would…what channel is the silver play button for?

Try hydrogen peroxide on the mummy bag to eliminate the odor. Apply it directly to the stain and let it soak, then mix more peroxide with some dishwashing liquid and hand wash in your bath tub. Then put it in your clothing washer to rinse. Dry according to the label. Best of luck!

I am looking at changing my sleep system being a thermarest z mat. Down hooded coverall puff jump suit. My outer shell would be a Hooded tyvak jump suit. The tyvak breaths, but is water proof. In the process of assembling this gear. I can test at the family farm on a cold rainy night. No tent or hammock.

Is that 40 L bag compatible with water bladders? That's my preferred hydration strategy in the summer.

I have those fizz an compact poles. They work great after 1000km, just the strap length adjustment could be better

With the smelly sleeping bag I would hang it up somewhere with airflow but no light, 2 weeks shouldn't smell

It sounds like you treat going ultralight like a game and a challenge which makes it pretty fun. I like that you're very cost conscious because you could lighten your load with a Zpacks backpack but it may not be good for running. Have you considered the Pa'Lante Joey with it's harness? It's about 14oz!

Six Moon Designs offers a nice vest style harness with their packs that you might check out.

Check your price on the Fizan aluminum poles. I recently paid $US70 for the pair. I love them. I wasn’t a fan of trekking poles until I bought a Durston tent and started using the poles. Now, I won’t hike without them.

Can the smell of weed alone cause an allergic reaction? Or
You just not like weed? Never heard of such a thing

There’s a very healthy energy with you hiking, that like if I wanted to jump I could just jump to heaven. Hiking to the North Star. Even though it puts me in a panic for you sometimes… thank you for that Native American feeling.
God will be there for you.

Spray that tent with DWR water repellant now. That will defiantly not hurt

A 1.6 kilo tent is pretty heavy seeing many of us are packing 1 pound tents

That seems super unsafe to run with the camera in your pack like that, that's stable?

Get Nikwax direct down detergent to wash your bag the cat peed on if it’s down. It will make it like new. Nikwax offers other cleaners as well if you don’t have a down bag.

I've heard the ultralight poles can fail often
