How to Use YouTube Shorts Green Screen Effect

YouTube Shorts finally has a green screen effect. In this video, I'll show you how to use the green screen effect in Shorts and add a picture as your background.

This option is rolling out on iPhones and Androids inside the YouTube mobile app. Make sure to update your app to get this new update.

Open the YouTube mobile app and click the plus sign and click on YouTube shorts. Make sure to give it camera access. Choose your selfie camera and you should see yourself in the shot with a green background.
Select any images you see on the button to place them as your background.

And it's that simple to use the YouTube Shorts Green Screen effect.

Can you zoom in or out on the background you select? I find that a lot of the photos I choose as a background are zoomed in way too far so it looks bad

Wow thanks that certainly opens a variety of possibilities! Tell me please, how does one add effects to YT Shorts, I often see YT 9:16 shorts that have one video at the bottom of screen and another at the top sort of 2 videos on one screen. Is it done before uploading or is there a template out there I'm not aware of?

Hello from the year 2024. How can I move the picture behind me when I do the green screen effect on YouTube shorts? You can also do this with videos, and put videos behind you, but I don't know how to move or zoom in and out the picture or video behind my face. Example, the picture is so zoomed in that the entire picture gets cropped out on the sides, making the picture not have the full frame, it's gets cropped out and is zoomed in. I want to zoom out the picture, to see the entire picture behind my body.
