One thing i learned about serial killers is that a small part of them seems like it wants to be caught. They often are able to kill so easilt because they dehumanize their victims. The more they see a person as a human, the less likely they are to pursue said person. This is what makes killers like John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Ted Bundy so terrifying. More often than not, they either knew their victims, or talked to them for quite a while before killing them.
