Minisforum offers its latest Mini PCs featuring AMD's Ryzen 9 7940HX & Intel Core i9-12900HK CPUs in a MoTD motherboard package. While the firm is known for its compact devices, the latest 790S7 & the 129i7 mini-ITX FF PCs are also worthy products to include in the firm's list of achievements, mainly due to the capabilities it features, along with the pricing, which we'll discuss later. The 790S7 mini-ITX PC targets the "professional" side of the market, coming in with a sleek, all-grey design, similar to office-focused systems in the market. Moving onto the specifications, Minisforum's 790S7 mini-ITX PC comes with AMD's Ryzen 9 7940HX APU, which features a 16-core and 32-thread configuration with 64 MB of L3 cache and a boost clock rated at 5.2 GHz. AMD's Zen 4 architecture is a proven design when it comes to efficiency leadership, and with the integration of a flagship Dragon Range SKU in the mini-ITX system, we can expect some serious performance out of it. Apart from this, the Minisforum's 790S7 comes with a low-profile AMD Radeon 610M GPU, which is present to cater to multimedia tasks and not for hefty workloads. However, the firm says that the system is capable of housing higher-end GPUs, such as NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4060, given that you need the PC to support intensive graphical workloads. In terms of memory and storage, the Minisforum's 790S7 comes with support for dual-channel DDR5-5200 memory, along with 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD slots as well, hence providing ample options. The company also offers a similar solution with the Intel Core i9-12900HK with 14 cores in a 6 P-Core and 8 E-Core configuration, 20 threads, up to 5.0 GHz clock speeds, and 24 MB of cache, all within a 45W base TDP package. Both CPUs are packed on a MoTD motherboard which comes with a full-length PCIe 4.0 x16 slot so you can really extend the performance capabilities of these PCs by adding a discrete graphics card. These new PCs seem like an answer to ASRock DeskMeet and Desk Mini SFF offerings which also offer similar designs. Given this particular system's form factor, consumers have a huge advantage when it comes to the onboard port options available. For display, the Minisforum's 790S7 supports HDMI 2.1 DisplayPort 1.4 connections, and the PC comes with a plethora of USB ports, including USB 3.2 (5 Gbps). So overall, it is safe to say that in terms of connectivity, the Minisforum's 790S7 doesn't lack in any aspect and will prove to be ample for any kind of environment.
