For $1280 barebones and $1440 with RAM and storage, it's not a cheap mini pc but it is still cheaper than most laptops with a 14900HX and mobile 4070 and most mini pc with a mobile 4070. It is good to see the internal space is better used than the NUCXi7. The main thing holding me back is the lack of IO but for raw price to performance this seems ok for a mini pc.

The only con of this beside the obvious of upgradability is the 8gb card. This thing is throwing some watts out! Definitely packs more of a punch the most laptop at this price range. 👏 to Atomman.

$1439 (intro sale price) is a rip off.

This uses a laptop 4070 which performs well below a full sized desktop version.

You can get an MSI Trident (which uses a desktop 4070 and is upgradeable) for a similar price.

Just picked up one of these, Micro Center has them for $1199, so pretty good price for what it is (IMO). I have mine running a 65" OLED 120hz LG screen, WAY better than my old HP Omen 2080 w/twin 27" screens :)

My only concern was how would any support be on this, but got Micro Centers 3 yr warranty, and my local store has a great support team, so no worries on that end.

ETA Prime. Please test the games using consistent settings. It’s hard to gauge real world performance if you are constantly changing resolution/dlss/framegen.

Also bring emulation testing back

First off love this channel and mini PC's! However I don't understand the prices on these highend mini pc's. I get the manufacturing and scale of these system are very small and thus increasing the price but couldn't a laptop manufacture rework there process to remove and the screen/ keyboard/battery and sell something like this for half the price? I have to be missing something

While I love the idea of a console like PC and I don't mind that they are built on laptop parts I just don't understand why anyone would but one of these, on sale it is $1439, normal price is $1799, for $1439 you could buy a prebuilt PC that is way faster and upgradable.

DOA, for that price I can get a gaming laptop or I could build a mini ITX gaming PC with way better performance.
