Hyper-V is Microsoft's Enterprise-class type-1 hypervisor. We will explore important technologies that Hyper-V has embraced to move it quickly into the Enterprise and Data Center space. Isolation is what hypervisors are all about, but it quickly became an issue with migrating server loads with intensive bandwidth demands in network, storage, and eventually video graphic performance. We will look at the fundamentals of Hyper-V, demonstrate the problems, and how technologies like SR-IOV “Single-root input-output virtualization” combined with IOMMU provided a solution to the performance issues of PCIe bus and virtual machines. We will also look at Microsoft DDA “Discrete Device Assignment” giving high-performance virtualized servers bandwidth for the most demand server loads. We will look at some of the complex configurations needed for these technologies.

We will review the design of Hyper-V virtualized hardware for the VMbus and why that has been a critical success of Hyper-V!

Thank you for the video, very well explained.
Can you please do a video on Azurestack HCI when you get some time??

I think Discord creates these type of Linux based Virtual Machines when you create a online account When they say it's a "Discord server" it's not a physical unit it's a VM guest host

One of my HV VM services simply stopped and I cant turn it back on anymore. It all began after a power failure physical restart.

yes but i would be happy if it was bare bones! and could do hardware, video passthru.

Hyper-V will be replaced with Azure Stack HCI and Hyper-V Server 2019 will be the last free version

Dear TS Friend, advise me on the following,
I9-10900 OR I9-11900 FOR HYPER-V
I need your advice since I must to make sure that I get the right CPU for Hyper-V. Why? For some of the i9 Intel features to provide direct access to VM to the hardware and drivers.
It is utterly serious that I purchase the correct CPU since one VM will be for pfSense and the other for Windows 11 Pro Workstation. Look at the Advance Features and there are several that the i9-10900 does not seem to possess when compared to the i9-11900.

The Hyper-V demands specific requirements from a CPU to ensure the highest performance and I ought to protect the Home Network since protected with pfSense and the central point of entry to the network even though Hyper-V will be used for the Firewall/Router VM. In addition, the CPU must be powerful enough to handle multiple Wireguard VPN connections that could remain active on a permanent basis. Therefore, which is best for my case scenario please. The i9-11900 is only £60 more than the i9-10900
However, if the 10 Core CPU is best despite the missing features when compared to the i9-11900 then it will be the right choice and I hope you can assist with that.

Many thanks and wish you well, Trevor
