I love how Beowulf is shown to us as a Leader, but does not give grandious speeches, or solo kills the entire enemy army. He is a quiet man, and speaks only when necessary, leading by example. It's funny how he speaks so little, yet everyone gets quiet and pays attention whenever he says something. True leader, with no bravado, he is epic just being humble and quiet, and that's not an easy thing to portrait.

Manliest death ever. Died in battle after defeating your opponent, sat down like a king and manspreading.

Knowing he's doomed, fighting himself back on his feet, joining his men in the final battle and, although weakened, managing to slay the Vendul leader...then, knowing his work is finished and his clan is safe, he sits down in the rain and dies, simply freezing in his position, looking like a king still alive, sitting on his throne with a "Mission accomplished" look on his face. That's one "Boss" way to go!

It’s a universal trait among men that a good death is it’s own reward. Do not be afraid of death.

He was poisoned, could barely lift his weapon, yet came to fight alongside his army. A true leader.

"I have only these hands. I will die a pauper."
{You will be buried as a king.}
"A man might be thought wealthy if someone were to... draw the story of his deeds. That they may be remembered."

Such a man might be thought wealthy indeed.

That Thunderstorm. Even the mighty Thor arrived with Valkyries to carry his spirit to the Hall of Heroes.

Having defeated his enemies and seen them driven before him he went to Valhalla. It was a good day.

Note in this era of film, sigma male and alpha male concepts didn’t exist, they just wanted to feature men who fulfilled their obligations and commitments to the fullest extent.

Had me balling in the theater when this came out. A mancry that's rarely achieved.

At 0:21 when he plants his sword a thunder is heard. All that recalls about a connection among the eternal greatness of Buliwyf and the endless huge power of the thunder Nordic god Thor. / At 1:21: with the mist they came and then it's just like the mist is taking them away.

(0:13) *_'Valhalla awaits'_** ~* Dying on his own terms, his sword laid to rest by his own hand. No Viking warrior could ask for more.

They don’t make movies like this anymore because they don’t want these values instilled in kids
