Morning Bible Devotion' 2 Chronicles 8

Pastor Tim of Grace and Truth Church reads a chapter of scripture from the Bible to seek Jesus in the known and to see Him reveal the unknown. We see the cultural, historical and faith perspectives of the passages and how the Word of God is as vibrant and relevant today as when lived so long ago.

2 Chronicles 08: King Solomon has the heart of a builder and builds up Israel in amazing ways. But amidst this is his downfall and the seeds of ruin for Israel. Solomon marries a daughter of Egypt for political reasons in direct contravention to the will of God. We see in this chapter how he does this knowing she is an unbeliever and unholy. The gates to idolatry are opened. We also seed the seeds of discord that comes from the slavery Solomon embraces.
