This is the biggest smart lighting renovation I have done yet! The end result really looks amazing. What else would you like to know about the Caséta Wireless system?

I use Lutron for my smart and non-smart lighting, also. They are so reliable! They work every time and all the time. I use regular motion sensors for hallways and the basement laundry room and Caseta for the rest. I can’t wait to get the Serena shades like you did.

Thanks for such a thorough walk through!

Imagine if this set up supported Thread too though! That would make it next level!

I have lutron caseta for ALL my light switches in my house (about 25) and it's the best thing ever !! A bit on the pricey side, but totally worth it :)

Thank you I love how you go slow and explain everything so thoroughly . Some of us are a bit slow 🤪.

Amazing video, Brett! It's clear how much work you put in to make this, because it's one of the best tutorials / application examples I've ever seen. You just earned a subscriber, my friend

If you use Pico remotes with home assistant or hubitat, each button can be programmed to do different things for a single tap, a double tap, or a long press.

We love Lutron's system. I have ours set to turn off a lot of the lights several times every weekday in case we forget. It saves me from "preaching" to the rest of the family about the importance of saving energy ($).

You might want to start using WAGO wire nuts. They are much smaller, super easy to install, do not come apart and no need for electrical tape. They have a newer transparent version that is even smaller and super easy, even for a DIYer.
Because of their smaller size, it is easier to tuck them into the outlet box.
Have been around for years. Designed and manufactured in Germany.

As an electrician these just provide so much utility without having to rewire. You don’t even have to have a bridge to do some functions such as creating another 3way or a just a convenient remote

Really nice setup. I recently bought a basic Lutron inline dimmer for my 25 year old lava lamp. Because of it's age, it had started to overheat, so putting it on a dimmer to control the heat has made it work like it was brand new again. Lava lamps are the one type of lighting I still consider using incandescent lights for because they require the heat to work. Thankfully, I'm only dealing with 40w, or 25w bulbs depending on the size of the lamp.

It’s the little things that I appreciate from YouTubers like E.g. MUTING SELF WHEN SAYING “ok/hey Google” !!

Hi Brett,

I am new to smart home set up and really love your videos. Thank you for such informative content!

I was curious, in this video at 7:50, are you connecting the hot and neutral wires together? I may be misunderstanding but if so that seems like a potential hazard and best case would throw the breaker—worst case much worse (I’m no electrician).

Please correct me if I’m wrong. Just want you and others watching to be safe!
