For some reason I’m having trouble taking off the top piece above the needle so I can check it, it’s really on there lol, but my machine isn’t sewing at all, the needle seems to be in the right place but I can’t really tell, not sure how to fix it

Greetings from Amsterdam! Question: if only the bottom stitches are intermittent, what could be the cause? My machine seems to be in perfect condition; top stitches are continuous, but on the bottom side there's gaps.

Omg I got this Christmas 2020 the rethreading is a headache and it only sews for a 20 seconds then you have to stop but the problem IV got is the thread is just pulling out, do i have to manoeuvre the needle up and down first ⁉️from Liverpool UK 🇬🇧
