OK.. ive got to tell you this. Been watching a little bit, maybe since covid. I had an ikea sewing machine I thought was a dud so gave up. However week after week i'd see your pieces and I knew I had a bucket load of clothing that needed simple alterations.. hemming and waist (I usually buy too big because the sizes are never consistent and then alter as needed). So eventually I took it the damn sewing machine out and realised I was threading the bobbin the wrong way. Post this, I've altered everything I have and I'm looking to start cutting up items that no longer fit/arent my style anymore. This was 10000% because I saw your videos and decided to just sort it out. Youre amazing. Hat of to you! 💛💜🧡

26:15 I HAVE CREATED A T SHIRT WITH THIS MACHINE YOU JUST KIND OF HAVE TO MESS WITH THE TENSION WHEN YOU HAVE THICKER MATERIAL YOU WANT TO LOOSEN, WITH THINNER MATERIAL TIGHTEN. TINKER WITH IT. IT WORKS FOR ME. OR YOU CAN ALWAYS PUT SOME BAKING PAPER UNDERNEATH AND SIMPLY RIP IT OFF ONCE FINISHED

Very helpful. Watching Angelina struggle with problems while sewing helped me understand a lot more about how to be patient, to predict better which fabrics my sewing machine can handle, and to stay away from handheld machines. Beginner sewers who use hand-held machine to "test" their interest in sewing are likely to be very frustrated. It shouldn't be that hard ... and yes, the problems that were in this video are some of the problems sewers do sometimes experience but only rarely, like if a bobbin isn't threaded clearly. Apparently, there is some kind of plate or plastic that can be adhered to the throat of your machine that makes it easier to sew "slippery" fabrics. I'd like more videos from Angelina about other commonly used tools for upcycling. Learning about seam rippers with blades that can be changed was a game-changing, I actually engage taking seams apart now.

watching you (someone with sewing skills) work with this machine convinced me even more than no matter the price this is not something I want to try

OMG that was painful to watch! hats off for being so patient, I would have quit half way through :) but it's quite a good review of the sewing machine and I'm sure it was helpful for the people who are considering buying one. Personally, I'd buy a really cheap classic sewing machine, save up money if needed, but not bother with this one. Thanks for going through this for your subscribers :)

Thank you for this video! I got a little hand sewing machine as a gift, and it was so validating to see an experienced seamstress like yourself have the same issues!

thank u so much for ur videos. Im a BW in my early thirties and I have natural hair and am suffering from hair loss. And I started buying headwraps, however they are very expensive (to me). I have been spending about $30 per headwrap. Therefore, I decided to start making my own and felt that it would be simple. I watched your other review on the handheld machine and decided to get one from Michaels. This was the first time I used a handheld machine and it was a little challenging for me as a complete beginner to sewing. I had a little trouble gathering the thread so I could cut it once I sewed a straight line. It was fun though and I made a really quick bandana with it, that Im going to wear to work tomorrow. But Im definitely going to get a better machine. I just wanted to know if I was going to like sewing in general. But thanks so much for ur videos :)

I got one of these for my mom for Christmas except it's made by Singer. I got it for her so she didn't have to take out her full size sewing machine when doing repairs and she really likes how convienient it is. It's not made for entire projects, just small things like repairs or adjusting seems, and for that it does well. I'd suggest getting a name brand one rather than this particular one.

Look, I'd never use that for anything. But for a moment, can we all just appreciate how our girl is just plain GLOWING? We need skin care tips, as in yesterday.

While I am not a fan of hand held sewing machines or any "portable " machine that does not have a bobbin, i do admire your dedication.

You make it look good no matter what.

I don't know how practical or possible, but I'd pay up for a little portable sewing machine that could lock stitches, handle knits and had a seam guide (hems). Sew a zipper in would be a bonus. I'm space challenged and just don't have room for much more. Basically, something I can throw into a suitcase.

I am giggling through this whole video. My son just gave me this exact machine for Christmas. It was such a sweet, thoughtful gift, but giving this to a pro sewer is like giving a pro mechanic a butter knife instead of a screwdriver. My son and I were chuckling as we were trying it out on repairing his dog's toys. It failed also, but he said I might find its use. That will be a shelf decoration.

Awesome testing! I just bought one at Goodwill today and will be using it for junk journal paper projects! Thanks so much!

You have more patience than I do girl and that noise it makes. I would take that $10 or so, buy some needles and thread, put the tea kettle on and cozy up in my favorite chair with a good movie and sew that hem by

Your quote came from the tv show lost in space it still comes on
Thank you for this video of the handheld sewing machine, I was going to purchase one for hems, not sure now.

It was a series... Lost In Space. The statement came from the robot... "Danger Will Robinson" I grew up watching it even though it was in reruns at the time. Thank you for demoing for us. Doing so can take the pain out of discovery on our own. We now know what to expect.
