Just a heads up about all the questions/comments on the right side having chrome. It's actually the protective film they put on before delivering, not chrome. And as for a tow hitch it's not installed on this one nor does it appear to be an option yet but hoping sometime soon. Thanks for watching and stay healthy out there folks!

This is the perfect middle-ground Tesla for me. A higher seating position, good range, tons of practicality, not as ridiculously expensive as the X.

Anyone else looking forward to the model Y selling like hot cakes so maybe you can afford a used model 3?! ;)

Such a nice distraction from all of the other news. Thanks for this great review and comparison to other Teslas!

Porsche, for a long time, said would never use rims larger than 19 inches. The weight of each wheel becomes too heavy which increases your UNsprung weight that affects handling.

5:27 - McDonald's burger wrapper stuck in the wheel arch? lol

Ben Sullins with the scoop and score. I've been waiting all day for a Model Y walk through.

Why is everyone so confused about the seal over the frunk? It's there because the frunk can also be used as a cooler, and it will keep water from splashing around while you're driving. Fun fact there's also a drain plug at the bottom.

The model 3 does have speakers in the back doors, they're just a different shape.

Ok, let’s free the data: the X and Y might look similar in size, but the X is 5, 05 m in length and the Y is 4, 78 m.

I bought a new Model X in 2017. 33, 000 miles no problems. Never been to a service center or use a supercharger. My home has solar panels/powerwall. Save $600/month on electricity and gas. I will buy another Model X as it is very exclusive and do not feel bad driving it as not a gas guzzler. No other manufacturer makes anything similar and probably never will because of costs. I use the falcon doors all the time with no issues. Looking to buy a Model Y for my daughter.

You're exact right, the donut seal there is meant to eliminate any sort of water ingress in the frunk, it also adds stability for when you close the trunk, too many people close tesla frunks incorrectly.

Looks great, definitely going to be the new top seller! Btw, my Model 3 definitely lets water into the frunk when driving in the rain. Good to see Tesla dealing with that issue.
Also, if the Y is so close to X size, will they make the X bigger?

A great car! As for towing the owners manual (page 189 i recall) says model y does not support towing. But another great feature for us who drive in colder climates (Canada) the model Y has a heat pump (the 3 does not) that will help reduce the need to rely on the heating coil.

If you buy the wheels for looks over range then you can't realy complain, it's all totally transparent.

The Visor hinge is a lot like the ones in my Honda Accord. They wear down after about 5 years, but as long as their easy to replace its not a big deal. The bigger deal is if they conquered the problem with the built in hinge that locks into place when the Visor is flipped down. In my Honda is was rather sudden and violent and eventually snapped. When the dealer replaced that it was slower and softer and I've had no problems since.

Ben. Did you notice if the Y had a trailer hitch and already fully wired up for one?

Range. I changed my 20” performance wheels for 18” T Sportline. I get about 10% more range. So going from 280 to 314 miles sounds right for the model Y.

It has a MFG Date: 03/06/20
Vin# 1194
Pretty recent build!

I didn't see this yet scanning the comment section but the range hit from the performance upgrade might not be just the 21" wheels. If you go to the configurator it also increase the top speed. It's very possible that difference in motor management is eating some of that range.
