California Eviction Protection: When will it end? | SB-91 Explained by Assemblymember David Chiu

SB91 is the current law that protects people in California from evictions, however, it’s set to expire on June 30. Assemblymember David Chiu, (D) San Francisco, says it absolutely needs to be extended.

“The idea that we might allow evictions to start on July 1 when we have so much funding that’s available to assist these individuals would be counterproductive at best and tragic at worst,” said Chiu. California has more than $5 billion dollars to pay off people’s rent, it just hasn’t gotten the money out the door.

Unfortunately there are people in trouble BUT there are many more living off the system that haven’t worked since March 2020. They have received UIB AND PUC and failed to take care of their responsibilities

Let me understand this; your government have gotten billions of dollars a rental assistant money but it’s everybody else’s fault that you haven’t given it out?🤔 What are you doing with the money?
