that aside would be really interesting to see how well a ultrasonic cleaner cleans a board like that, theoretically it will clean it perfectly including some corrosion, which begs the question is it worth owning one for trough-hole retro consoles.

I'm interested in seeing what your cleaning techniques are. I work on Nintendo portables. I'm expanding my repetoire to portables by other companies. These units are abused like you wouldn't believe, mainly because they're owned by kids. In particular I have lots of dead mainboards and I would like to improve my mainboard repair abilities. I'm having a hard time finding even one schematic, but maybe I don't know where to look.

Clean it! There's something so satisfying cleaning consoles to me, also it would be good for people that might have gotten consoles destroyed by flooding etc they can watch this and maybe take some tips from it!

I've heard of people putting circuit boards in the dishwasher to clean them up. This looks like the perfect candidate.

I told my boss about this video (I work in IT), and I am very curious as to how the fuck you would clean mud off of internal parts. I work in IT, and because the motherboard and internal components in computers are the same in functionality, it would be really beneficial to learn from it. Who knows? Maybe one day I will have to fix a computer with the exact same problem.
