How to fix the 'scratch disks are full' error in photoshop cs6. This is a common problem and it's because there isn't enough unfragmented space on your hard drive. Please leave a LIKE if this helped, thanks :)

The problem 'scratch disks are full' in photoshop means there isn't enough space on your hard drive. Press Ctrl + K to open preferences, go to performance and check what hard drive photoshop writes to and how empty it is. If the hard drive is almost full - that is your problem, you need to delete data for the scratch disks to have enough space.

IF your problem persists despite having a lot of hard drive space, it's very possible that you have a very fragmented hard drive which means there isn't enough free unfragmented space for photoshop to write it's temporary data to, to fix this, download defraggler and run it on your scratch disk hard drive and it should fix the problem

Why not empty the scratch disc on the C Drive instead of switching to another hard drive? I want to address this head on and clear the old files from the scratch disc. How do I find, identify, and delete the files? I can't find the answer. It is always the temporary band-aid of switching to a different hard drive on these 'tutorials'.

I thought this solved my issue but...if you change your scratch disk space to some other drive...it immediately fills up your disk space and runs to same error again....

What if Photoshop won't open period? When I try to open it, a box that says "Could not initialize Photoshop because scratch disks are full" appears and when I click OK, i just see that spinning rainbow circle. How do I fix this?

In windows system, Photoshop 2019. HOLD ALT+CTRL AFTER CLICKING PHOTOSHOP ICON TO OPEN SCRATCH DISK SETUP WHILE LAUNCHING IT.
That information must be in the error dialog when Photoshop fails to run due to scratch disk being full BUT ISN'T. Adobe must add that dialog on error window
