There's a reason they say alcoholism is a family disease, it changes the entire dynamic.

I don’t think my dad ever considered being a cycle breaker but at 70 he got sober and started therapy for his ptsd and rage. I’m so proud of him. I got sober too, 2 years ago today

I loved your Mom and Dad. Great memories as a child watching them on The Ed Sullivan Show.

I remember how much I loved watching Stiller and Meara on Ed Sullivan and other shows when I was a kid, and I was so happy that they both stayed so relevant throughout their lives. I’m sorry to hear about Anne’s struggles with alcohol, but not at all surprised that she had the fortitude to deal with it, where so many do not… May they both rest in peace 🥹❤️

Loved your Mom..❤
Loved your Dad too...
Whatever their issues were, they made millions smile, and gave them a minute to escape their own demons...

I worked with both his parents on King of Queens. Some of the sweetest people ever. The stories they could tell of their fascinating lives. ❤️🙏🏻

My father never drank even socially...my mom said my dad came home from Vietnam she didn't recognize him..he was an alcoholic a serious alcoholic my entire life 😢 Because he stayed drunk everyday he didn't feel the symptoms of cancer and I took him to the hospital..I thought he had a UTI but they ran test and while I was waiting for the test my dad fell unconscious and was actively dying when the doctor came and took me to that dreaded room and informed me he had cancer and he had complete holes in almost every bone in his body...spine, pelvis, sternum, ribs were riddled with holes..😢 he was actively dying and he passed away 8 hours later 😢 i can't care grieve because I'm so stuck in anger! I feel so confused and guilty because I'm so angry at my Dad...I'm stuck..grieving is so horrible the hardest thing I've ever done..I don't know how to grieve 😢 I've never seen anyone die 8 hours after being diagnosed with cancer! It was Multiple Myeloma cancer! He passed away July 2nd 2023 😢 RIP DAD 😢

Alcohol is insidious. My son just had one year of sobriety. Every day, I am grateful. It's tough.

Alcoholism runs in my family too. Our family definitely carries the gene.

My mom has literally, without fail, been drunk since 1969, it’s 9:18 am and she’s just poured her first whiskey and coke, well, a dash of coke🍹Alcohol is a thief, it’s stolen my mom, my dad, my BFF from the age of 9, it stole my grandparents, a man I would be married to if it wasn’t for alcohol and cigs, ughhhh hate alcohol

I have heard alcoholism is a slow trudge to the grave and I have witnessed that to be the case.
