This is actually the most helpful explanation I’ve ever heard of sobriety. I’ve always done it alone.

Love how vulnerable you allow yourself to be and still so well spoken and helpful to others. ❤❤❤

Putting aside the issue of sobriety and just speaking about life in general, finding a group of people that know the authentic you are truly the people you come home to.👍❤️

12 steps really helped me identify the core of my issues, how to work them out, how to accept them, how to heal them and how to move on. I found my community, I found myself being absolutely honest, with myself and them. And the love I got back, I didn't know was possible. I've been clean and sober for almost 14 years because of NA. I now follow the 12 rules of Karma and that's a daily practice too.

Wow, this is cuts right to the heart of it - this is one of the best reasons to start group "whatever, " because this is the sense of family people need

Never been an alcoholic, didn’t really know much about the AA stuff. Then I had a friend - and she started throwing out all these great life quotes. “Keep your side of the street clean” is one of my favorites. She somehow ended up wise and mindful and was at peace with her demons. Why don’t we teach this stuff to kids in school - when we know they need it and are susceptible? If only I was Queen for a Day….. ✌️ ❤

My mom has been sober for over 30 years. As I get older I have fewer and fewer friends while she has more and more. She has a village at her back and I'm actually jealous she always has someone to talk to she always has a ride if her car breaks down etc. And they are true friends so they are not just talking about sobriety. They are talking about the day to day. Venting about life. Sharing joy etc.

It true even for those of whose struggles arent in those 12-step rooms - being able to be vulnerable and to have even just one person who knows your shit... That's the step towards healing

Yes mam! The home you come back to! Absolutely essential in every town in the USA. My dream is to have mental health available within 80 miles wherever you are. This changed my life. If we had mental health that good and that effective there would be no such thing as serial killers or school shootings (in the meantime we could regulate guns!)
