Repotting Aloe Vera into Hydroponics

I had a very dehydrated star aloe from the hardware store. It didn't plump up in soil, no matter what I did. I put it in leca. It's plump and it has amazing new roots growing out of the bottom of the pot!

Everyone keeps telling me you can't grow aloe in water. And yet I started with a little sprig and now have 20 separate 15 to 20 pound plants growing in my pvc tube aquaponic pond filter for my fish pond. The roots are kept completely submerged in running water and these plants are growing like monsters!

they don't like the red spectrum of light but will thrive under t5ho lighting with bulbs in the 5000k to 6500k range.
