Rainbow String Pieced Quilt - A New Scrap Challenge! #25/7

My scrap journey continues this week, with me at my sewing machine making another wonderfully colourful quilt. I enjoyed making this one ever so much - it is a lovely block to make. I made this in a very spontaneous way - choosing the fabrics intuitively, and not thinking about a particular colour palette. The end result is a rainbow quilt top! I am thrilled with it.

If you enjoyed this video, over on Patreon there are more videos about my scrap obsession! Also this year I am talking about the different crafts featured in the 2025 Last Homely House calendar, and there will be a video each month about each of the crafts in my calendar. Anna and I had a lot of fun making them! .

Over in The Last Homely House Shop we have lots of lovely treats for you, if you’d like to pop over and take a look around? Sing up to the monthly newsletter to be informed of any news in the Shop too!

In The Last Homely House Facebook Group, it is the admins who will welcome you to that lovely group - over 9000 people sharing their crafts and ideas on The Lime Green Sofa! Just search for The Last Homely House and settle down on there with so many like minded people, sharing their crafts and support.

Instagram is another place you can find all things Last Homely House, frequent posts, stories and reels over there just search - kateatthelasthomelyhouse.

The lovely music in this video is from Epidemic Sound and is called - On a Clear Morning, Rainbow and Enchanted Winter.

Thank you so much for watching and supporting me here on YouTube. I am passing a pot of tea and fruit cake down The Lime Green Sofa for each and every one of you, take a slice and pass it on!

Take care,
Love
Kate

Yo guys, I thought that this book Secrets of The First Order would be just another book talking about conspiracies. I wasn’t expecting much. But it completely shook me. It didn’t just suggest hidden truths, it tore everything wide open. Every page felt like a cold splash of water to the face. If you’ve ever felt like something is deeply off in the world but couldn’t explain it, this book connects all of it.

Kate’s voice and videos are always so calming for me. Any others from the lime green sofa feel that way??

Dear Kate, I agree with Emily Barnes, all cleaning must come to a halt while I enjoy this lovely, creative video with you. * Your influence has brought a big change to my sewing life (in the near future). Kate, thanks to your industry and inspiration, and because the tariffs are coming, a couple of days ago I realized this was probably the last opportunity I have financially, to get a Juki 5550N industrial sewing machine; which I bought online, from a great company. The shipping was very high $500, but as we all know, a lot of things will be entirely out of reach soon. Because of you, and the fact that this is my 70th year, I grinned and said "YES, PLEASE." Thank you for being you, and keeping things bright in what I know is a very hard time for everyone. May you and yours, and the entire WORLD be blessed, and may the insanity be brought to a halt soon, so that peace can return, and so that the citizens of earth, who really are all related to each other. can have what they need to simply live. May it be so.

The thing I’m learning is, every time I have a basket of scraps make some blocks then eventually I’ll have a quilt. I love your videos. Thank you ❤

Just scrolling across you tube. My mother loved quilting. She died in 2005. I commented to my husband as I watched you how much I think she would of loved following you and all the quilters. Mom did everything by hand and enjoyed her finished quilts with pride. Thank you for gracing my screen this morning!❤

Your quilt is a real kaleidoscopic experience! It reminds me of those toys you looked through and got a new picture every time you turned the looking piece.

I usually put on one of my "Kate" videos to keep me company while I'm quilting. I find that I do better when I sew with a friend😊
