I’m constantly being misunderstood. I can’t understand it. When I ask a simple question with good intentions, they sometimes falsely assume I’m questioning them. It breaks my heart when they snap or bark in reply. 😢.

I hate it when im talking to someone and they misunderstand what im saying then i overthink it and get anxiety.

I guess this is where the quote "know your intention" is key. As long as I know my intentions are good, how the other person responds is up to them, and like he said, how the respond says more about them than you think. People are usually the thing they accuse you of so always know your intention 👍🏾

I needed this, Kary. Thank you!

You said once that your biggest secret was you "used to be a pastor." I'll tell you something--You're still a pastor, just in the biblical sense rather than the "Westernized Church" sense. Both Hebrews 13:17 and I Peter 5:2-4 identify pastors not as leaders over a "church" as we would recognize it, but as "shepherds, " as those who watch out for people's souls, the way a shepherd watches over his (or her) sheep, caring for them, feeding them, keeping them safe from enemies and pitfalls. You do that for people every day! Never forget that. God bless you and yours.

I've recently started to speak up about an unfair situation of a country that affects all people under a certain criteria, and surprisingly by trying to make people realize why they are treated like they are, they reacted as if I was attacking them, and trying to defend themselves of being happy with their lives and situations despite the unfair policy they have to go through. Sometimes, I believe people are comfortable living under unfairness, they just conform, and anyone that tries to point out the causes of the issues they face, they feel is a treat to the ideas of the world they've created and that they live in. I don't want to stop speaking up for a cause I believe is fair and that affects this people, but if the affected people don't want to understand the cause of why they face unfairness, or they don't see unfairness as what it is, I feel disappointed and very misunderstood. Because I try to help people, and they feel like I am attacking them, which is completely the opposite, I think they are just scared from hearing the truth, honestly.

But what is a compassionate or graceful reaction then? When you get judjed based on nothing it still triggers something in you and you're just internalizing 'why does someone think that about me and also say it out loud?' I find it very weird when someone doesn't know you and judge you right away, very sad!
