How drugs are defined

Craig Thulin was born and raised in Utah and received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah, majoring in Cell Biology with a minor in Linguistics. Then received his PhD from the Department of Biochemistry in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. Craig’s first position after college was a postdoctoral fellowship at the Vollum Institute for Advanced Biomedical Research, affiliated with the Oregon Health Sciences University. From there Craig went to BYU, where he worked for a total of nine years before coming to Utah Valley. He has been on the faculty at UVU for eight years now, teaching Biochemistry and Pharmacology as well as some introductory Chemistry.

Extremely well spoken and such an amazing speech! It makes me think of Hippocrates quote of "let thy food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food". Being more educated about the amount/type of substances (such as food and therapeutic drugs) we put into our bodies, could serve us all as a useful tool for having a better and healthier life. Thanks Dr. Thulin!

Love this. So many times we hear that things don't have side effects, and things like essential oils are crazy popular for every ailment, but that doesn't mean we should not educate ourselves about everything we are treating ourselves and loved ones with. Great talk. Thank you.
