100-300 f4 would be an awesome lens to pair with 24-105 f4!

An RF 200-500mm f4 would be the dream wildlife lens for me. Chuck in the internal 1.4x extender that the EF 200-400mm f4 had, and that would be 👌🏼

I really hope that 300-600 f2.8-4.5 makes it to market. IMO that's even better than the 200-500 F4 we've been waiting years for. Perfect wildlife lens

I’ll take an R5 mkII, R1, 15-35 f2.8, 24-70 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8, and 600 f4 😍

R1 & R1 (I don't do much video these days) 24-70, 70-200, 85 1.2 & 400 2.8, Cover sports and weddings. As much as I'd LOVE to have the 100-300, I don't think it would be a good all arounder, tough to beat the 70-200 as an all around lens.

Sadly, the optimal shoping list would be to pick the two most expensive bodies and the four most expensive lenses. Then, when you get home and decide you really don't need all of those insanely expensive and insanely big long lenses, sell them and get a nice 70-200 F2.8 and all the fixed focal length ones.

Sports shooter here so two R1 bodies, RF 400mm f/2.8, 100-300 f/2.8, RF 28-70 f/2, RF 15-35mm f/2.8 and the nonstop hope that I never have a need to cover 70 - 100mm and don't have room to zoom with my feet. I would be tempted to go with a 600mm f/4 instead of the 15-35mm though. Having 45 MP and less reach (eg: 300mm on an R5) yields far less image quality than 24 MP and sufficient reach (like across a baseball/softball diamond or from 50 yards away when shooting behind the endline in football or soccer).

If I had a shot at the canon gear room I’d be taking home the R1 and R5II, and the 400 f2.8, 600 f4, 100-300 2.8 and a 24-105 f2.8

0:52 I'm guessing he didn't want to do a 10 minute lecture for an ad spot but technically having one RAID array still isn't total data security.
Secure data is backed up THREE times.
1. Local active storage (NAS).
2. Offline cold storage (cannot be hit with encryption hijacking).
3. Cloud storage/off site storage (in case your house burns down).

Plus remember that if your data isn't stored with the ZFS or BTRFS filesystem then your files are all still susceptible to bitrot (individual bits of data will randomly flip over time and corrupt files, every file needs to be re-written periodically or else it will just become corrupted unreadable data).

Jared for your next big give away - a 5 min grab what you can from that Olympic room? Hope Ken got a chance to be one of the 40 that got to use the R1. A flagship that only shoots Jpeg is about as close to his dream camera he will ever get.

Canon needs a competitor for the 150-600 type of lenses. I switched from Nikon to canon and not having a lens that’s cheap and in that focal range sucks. Edit ; I’m aware of the 100-500 it is extremely more expensive than the competitors

NAS storage is very useful and important in my everyday usage.

That’s store room sweep would be interesting 🥹 r5mkii r3 bodies. 100-300 f2.8, 600 f4, 15-35mm f2.8, then tied between either 50/85 f1.2

R3 and R5 II camera bodies, if there was something like the Sigma 60-600 sport, that would be one. Then I'd take a wide prime, 16mm 1.8 or 1.4 if that's an option. Followed by the 28-70 f2, and the 400 2.8. The 100-300 would be another with extender 1.4. Thanks for all the tough love Jared!

Would hope Canon would release the RF 200-500 f4 replacement of the EF 200-400 f4 before starting rumors of even more lenses. But here we are in Q3 of 2024 without any recent rumors about the RF 200-500.
