Tim lowers his standards quite significantly if it confirms his belief. If you're only 5% with firsthand eyewitness, then somehow it jumps to 40-50% based on 3rd person anonymous sources....

How Tim justifies it with mental gymnastics is kind of silly to me.
There's nothing you can do to make an exception for poor evidence, it's just poor evidence.

In the original video at 3:48:49, Tim said this:

_"I think that Jesus' resurrection predictions were actually pretty vague and they read a lot more into them in light of what they experienced. Looking back, I think they saw something more clear than what he actually said in his passion predictions."_

While Mark 10:32-34 says this:
They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve aside and told them what was going to happen to him. 33 “We are going up to Jerusalem, ” he said, “and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, 34 who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise.”

This looks pretty specific to me! Is Tim implying the gospel authors embellished the sayings of Jesus? In other words, they attributed words to him that he didn't actually say? So much for the reliability of the gospels then!

the character and credibility of Paul is also evidence. He died for his belief in what he saw in Jesus and heard from the apostles. Are the atheist scholars willing to die for their scholarship ?
