I’m German American but more recent German American that grew up in the South. It bums me out that the German American culture is seemingly dying out in America despite the massive amount of them everywhere. There’s so many German Americans that they almost out number the amount of Germans in Germany itself! Here’s hoping to a cultural revival in the near future.

I live in Idaho and our 3rd most common language is German. We have a major German presence here not as much as Hispanic but it's there. Here it's smart to know Spanish and German. Not just the language but cultures as well.

While definitions on what constitutes 'responsible' vary, I really like the distinction between responsible government and limited government.

As a proud German American, I love my heritage. Also remember that we were heavily persecuted during WWI. Nobody had it easy in history.

The largest single characteristics of German Americans is they don't arrive late. There are early Germans and precisely on time Germans 😅😅😅
