That's the most American thing I've ever heard.
"Well I'm not from said country you're from, but that seems wrong"

in Germany it is completely normal to take bottle out of package's and also sometimes I use my bag to transport the stuff before I go pay

We do that in Poland too! If we want something from a 4-6 pack, we open it, and take one!

The bread cutting machine has finally gotten some attention, love and credit. It's only always just sitting there. Now it waits patiently for random things to cut.

As a german, i had NEVER had any problems with taking a bottle out of a six pack. Yes, some packages can't be taken apart, but especially with those shrinkwarpped bottles it's really common to just take some out. Most stores even have the prices on display per bottle and not the entire pack

I’ve never seen or heard of an American cutting a watermelon in a store but my anxiety went through the roof

The way I just *immediately* felt a rush of anxiety the minute he ripped the packaging 😂

My first night in Germany I passed out in my hotel room at 3 am drunk and woke up in a fever dream with this puppet made of bread on the TV.

In America for things sold in packs, one each bottle or bag it’ll say “not for individual purchase” so I’d probably be thrown off too.

I worked at a grocery store in the United States and one night a distraught Italian man, who later told me he had just come from the airport after flying in from Italy, came up to me and asked where the fresh pasta was. This being an American grocery store, I had to tell him we didn't have any. He demanded I walk the whole store with him, because he couldn't comprehend that here we don't have fresh pasta in all the grocery stores, which he said they do in Italy. After we walked the whole (huge, huge) store together and didn't find it, he started yelling at me and saying this was madness.

Brazilian here, we do that all the time, one thing that e do much is to open the bottle, drink it while shopping, and take the empty bottle to the cashier to pay for it🇧🇷🇧🇷

In America, a packaged item often has a different barcode than one that retails individually. So, if you scan any one bottle, it rings up as a 6-pack

"Not labeled for individual sale." will be printed on the outside packaging in the U.S. if they are really not intended to be separated. They may not have required items like ingredients, weights, calories.
